As a very wide footed runner, I'm tired of shoe companies making shoes narrower when they update models. I loved the v2s. I went through multiple pairs of them last year as they were the only carbon shoe that comfortably fit me and I wanted that extra kick for the long miles I was doing for both marathon and ultramarathon training. As soon as I saw the midsole style from the Supercomp Elites v2s on the Trainer v3s I knew I was in trouble. The Elites were narrower than the Trainer v2s and these follow that design. There's far less room around the balls of your feet both in terms of width and instep height. These pinched outer edge of my feet badly. I tried lacing them as loosely as possible, but I ran in them twice and 5 miles into each run my feet genuinely hurt. Add them to the pile of shoes just not made for me and my 4E width and high arches. ... show more

I bought wide as usual for me. Fit as usual. Lack of structure in rear makes it slightly harder to put on compared to V2. Just two runs in so far, but it is easy to go faster. Well cushioned, but not in a pillow strapped to each foot kind of way. Good energy return. Slight tendency to stray from straight ahead when running slow. Weighs 0.1 ounce more than V2. ... show more
