The FuelCell is a maximum cushion shoe that still allows you to feel the ground. It provides a cloud-like shoe that’s connected to the ground- a rather rare combo. The shock absorption is much better than the energy return. It provides a very comfortable ride but isn’t the best for speed. I found it true to size. There is room for my orthotics without my foot floating around. It provides very secure and comfortable fit. I can’t speak for the durability, although the look and feel of the shoe raises questions on that front. All in all, a great shoe.     • A Somewhat Subtle but Excellent Update

I run a lot and run in a lot of shoes. I’ve worked in the industry and have fitted plenty of people for running shoes. These are a big win for NB. The shoe is everything I enjoy in a running shoe. It’s simple, fun, cushioned, responsive, durable enough, and looks great. It’s also fantastic value for money. The fit is true to size, unlike the previous model. There is no extra upper material to bunch up, but enough width to satisfy someone who complains about shoes being to narrow. The rubber outsole is somewhat minimal and it started to wear after 75-100 miles. That being said, grip is good and outsole wear is not the end of the world. The shoe still has a lot of life in it at 150ish miles. This is going to be one of those that gets turned into a dog walker after I’m finished running in it. In my world, that is a great achievement for a running shoe and is reserved for the most comfortable. ... show more

The men’s fuel cell rebel V5 is new balances latest model in this brand. Came out last summer. The style is cool and colors are nice. Beautiful, soft and - not too spongy! They are also lighter than previous models….I think!??

Love this shoe for easier runs. They’re lightweight enough for faster runs. Very comfortable. My foot size is 9.5 to 10 and I ‘m glad I went with size 10 with these. Some reviews are saying they’re roomy but they seem normal to me. People’s feet are all different, so don’t base your size selection just on what I say. Having super wide feet, im pretty much a new balance lifer. These shoes are pretty similar to the V4. Bouncy, light and one improvement I've noticed is the material by the toes seems stronger, my V4s have already torn due to the whole wide foot thing. Definitely a solid running / everyday shoe and price point isnt bad, would recommend! ... show more

Rebel has been my go-t0 running shoe since v2. Great cushion, love the comfort. I wear 2E and these work perfectly for me always ordering size 10W. They last about 300 miles without issue.
