  • Experience Ultimate Comfort and Performance
Size: 12 Color: Mountain Teal/Blaze
The media could not be loaded. I recently got my hands (or rather, feet) on the New Balance Fresh Foam Trail Shoes, and they’ve quickly become my go-to for outdoor adventures. The first thing I noticed was the striking design – the combination of teal, black, and a hint of orange makes them stand out without being too flashy. The real magic, though, is in the performance. These shoes feature New Balance’s Fresh Foam cushioning, which feels like you’re running on clouds. The midsole provides excellent support, absorbing impact and reducing strain on my joints during long runs. Whether I’m tackling rocky trails or smooth paths, the traction is superb, thanks to the grippy outsole that keeps me stable and confident. Another impressive feature is the shoe’s upper, which combines breathability and durability. My feet stay cool and dry, even during intense workouts, and the shoe feels robust enough to handle rough terrain without showing signs of wear. Overall, the New Balance Fresh Foam Trail Shoes are a fantastic investment for anyone serious about their trail running or hiking. They offer the perfect blend of comfort, support, and style, making every run an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Great FITTING Shoes! Always a COLOR guessing game with New Balance
The PRO bits - - These are great FITTING shoes. It just seems like all the curves and bumps and hollows are in exactly the right place for MY foot. NB's have always fit well. I've worn them since the 70's. This style is noticeably better fitting than even other New Balance styles with lower price points. - Light Weight. This too is something I think NB has always done well. Again, this pair is just "a little better" (lighter) than their lower priced shoes. - Cushy but resilient soles. The bottom of the sole is appropriately tough. Difficult to puncture with rocks, cactus needles, sticks etc., probably wouldn't resist a rattlesnake bite. (Doesn't everyone live on a ranch in the desert?) The inside, foot side of the sole, is the usual, very well molded, NB insert. I've never found a good replacement if/when the original NB inserts get worn out. They're just really good. Somewhere between that outer and inner layer is some kind of magic foam stuff that is plenty cushy but always seems to rebound after wearing. You don't see the "footprint" inprint in the sole for years. Whatever they put in there, and whatever design the engineers thought up, works great. Great for me, a heavy guy that walks and does ranch chores all day. Nicely reduces joint impact from the feet on up. The CON bits - The color - Imagine a board room full of people with different ideas about what color a product should be. Some want dark. Some want light. Some want wild stripes, dramatic graphics. Some want slouch, some camo. The "poor compromise" is what I'd consider the color of these shoes. One of it's colors is "Pigment". Really? You name a pigment "Pigment"? That's like developing a new fruit and calling it "Fruit". This shoe is blue, green, brown, tan, purple, gray, in some places all of the above at once. It's as if they mixed all the left over dye in the vat and came up with some kind of gray-mauve-blue. The heel detail looks like a leaky spray gun applied the color and it splattered. It's the design, not a real splatter. It's weird splashes of mud colored pigment applied here and there. Heel Flippy Things - Aft of the heel there's a flap of rubber that extends rearward about .500 bananas (~12 M&Ms). I imagine(?) this rubber flap is some kind of "Design feature" that dramatically improves your marathon times or something. For me, a guy walking around on a ranch, it tends to grab little bits of rock and stick and bug poo and flip it up into the ankle cuff of my shoes. Bug poo down your socks is an annoyance at worst. But an annoyance none the less. Despite the CONs above, I still rate them 5 stars., if for no other reason, because they simply FIT so well. These shoes were 160 clams, 'murican. They are notably better fitting then the 100 or the 60 dollar style NB shoes I wear, in exactly the same size. Needless to say, my feet aren't your feet. ... show more

  • Comfort, wear for trail running and hiking is great
This is my second pair. I don't think they can be beat for comfort and wear. I also have a wide foot and don't even have to buy the wide version of the shoe. Excellent.

  • Good looks and well made
Purchased these shoes to replace a 2 yr old pair of ASICS GT-1000. Although they will be used mostly for walking on pavement, I also plan on using them on local off-road trails. Since nearly all running/walking shoes now come with the new foam/cloud technology, I was a sceptic (I’ve been accustomed to stabilization soles). That said, to my surprise, these shoes feel stable while also having a very soft landing. Pros: - they look awesome…I’ve had many compliment’s - very comfortable while being stable - well built uppers - lacing provides a small gap at the mid-foot that’s designed for comfort - toe of the shoe is slightly rubberized to protect and minimize moisture penetration Cons: - the bottom sole tread is relatively thin so not sure how it will hold up under daily use - only time will tell if the foam/cloud sole will hold up over time Overall I am very satisfied with these shoes! ... show more

  • These are not attractive shoes but - they have changed my trail-running game, love em
These are my go-to trail runners because I have minor stability issues on the trail and these shoes are like having perfect traction on every surface, love 'em. They cushion beautifully without being at all spongy; I always feel that I have fully-accurate perception of what I'm running on, while at the same time, don't have to worry about what I'm running on because - these shoes aren't gonna lose their grip. Build quality is great and I've never had a defect appear on these shoes, and I believe I'm at least into my fifth pair. The shoes can run a little on the heavy side, and I've noticed in very warm temps, sometimes the shoes can feel a little hot inside, not unbearably so. But the stability and comfort trump these minor things for me. I am a portly jogger and with running 3-4x/week, I burn out the treads on these in about six months with 75% gravel/sand/rocky trail, 25% cement/asphalt jogging, which I think is decent as far as durability goes. (I have not ever had a pair of running shoes last longer than this.) After their retirement, my old shoes still serve me well as backup yardwork shoes for years after. I would highly recommend. ... show more
