  • Cushioning is great, but width is off.
These shoes are difficult to put on. There is a stitching feature that runs vertically in the middle of the shoe that makes a tight fit, even with the laces loosened up. Once they are on they are still uncomfortable in that area, but the excellent cushioning is noticable on the treadmill. Conclusion: narrow feet are better for these NB's. ... show more

  • Extra Wide sizes are built on Medium soles.
The 4E Extra Wide shoes are just Medium width soles with larger uppers. The sole is so slim that my big toe was hanging off the inside edge about nearly 1/2 inch. I even made sure to double-check the tags due to how shockingly slim these were. My Nike, Skechers, and older New Balance 4E are all about the same width as each other. And they are all about 1/2 wider than this model. We even have some women's NB 1540v2 9.5 Extra Wide that are significantly wider. If you have wide feet, these shoes won't work for you. Go buy something else. ... show more

  • Comfortable Running Shoes
As a person with flat feet, there aren't many options to choose from if you're looking for shoes with style. I have worn one pair of shoes a little over a year and I have to admit, it was quite tedious of me wearing the same shoes with every outfit, every single day. I came across these shoes because I tried on the gray ones in-store. The problem was that they only had gray and blue; however, they were pricier than the ones on Amazon. I like how there are different colors online and since I've tried on the gray ones, in the New Balance store, I've decided to go for the white ones and, I must say, it's nice to wear some nice white shoes for walking and running. Plus, they are very comfortable and smooth support for my feet. I would like definitely like to collect the colors. Wish they had a solid all-black color. ... show more

  • Poor Design
Size: 11 X-Wide Color: Grey/Energy Red
So here is the deal. I bought these because I had my knee replaced on Jan 8th. I have only been wearing these about 5 weeks, and nothing physical as I have been on a walker then a cane, and now walking on my own, yet with a limp still...lol The issue is that these shoes have a built in plastic piece on that is a half circle around the toes. The plastic piece is what has cut a line in the same place on both shoes, as shown in pics. If you are doing any excersie or activities these will not last. That said, one of the more comfortable shoes I have worn, as I got x-wide, and feel great. I just have to buy new shoes, as these are not working. Shame as I like them, hence 1 star. ... show more

  • First running shoe in years
Size: 10 Color: Black
When I decided to start running after years of not running, I downloaded the C25K App and did the first two days wearing cross trainers. Big mistake. Too heavy & too stiff. So I ordered these shoes and I'm really enjoying them. They're light and the soles are soft with a nice spring. I will say that the tongue of each shoe had an annoying wrinkle that probably developed in packaging. A bit of care smoothing the wrinkles out when putting them on took care of that and the wrinkles have disappeared. If/when these shoes wear out, would I but then again? Yes, I would. ... show more

  • Not wide enough for my 4E!!! Returned.
Size: 9.5 X-Wide Color: Nb Burgundy/Black
I was shocked at how narrow this shoe was. I even read several reviews before ordering it. I did not anticipate the width being a problem, since I was ordering an extra wide. The shoe did go on my foot, but was uncomfortably tight, particularly across the top of the foot. I guess I would say if you have a foot that is "thicker", I do NOT recommend this for you. I think it may be the "jogger" styles that run smaller. ** If you know a New Balance cross trainer/Walker4E or a Sketcher 4E is comfortable for you, then you will find this too narrow!! ... show more

  • 8.5 4E fits fine with my inserts
I have flat feet and have a hard time finding shoes. I typically purchase (and return) about 10-15 pairs to find one that actually fits. Also, i have to wear orthotic support -- https://smile.amazon.com/Superfeet-Insoles-Professional-Grade-Orthotic-Green/dp/B0033BPBD4/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=superfeet&qid=1624554888&sr=8-5. Removed the factory cushion and inserted the Superfeet. Happy with the fit with my inserts -- comfortable and good support. Using them for practicing taiji. Ended up buying a second pair for general, casual wear too. ... show more
