Despite the high stack, the shoe doesn’t feel unstable or clunky. On the contrary — it rolls beautifully and actually feels lighter than it looks. Fantastic all around running shoe. I have wide feet and these are a perfect fit with a very roomy toe box. Plenty of cushion and well balanced. The only negative thing I can say about the shoe and it’s fairly minor but there is a little bit of movement in the heel area, as it is designed a little bit slicker on the inside than I would prefer. I just have to lace them extra tight and it’s all good. I will definitely be buying these again when I wear this current pair out. I’m hoping I can get a couple hundred miles out of them.

I have finally settled on a daily trainer. This shoe has a good balance of weight and comfort. I did my long run on Sunday and changed shoes in the middle to compare the New Balance vs the Brooks Glycerin. The Brooks are comfortable but are definitely less responsive on my push off. The carbon-plated race version, the NB V5 Elite is a fine shoe, and many people are using them for triathlon. Great if you have a mid foot strike. Nike’s (Alpha Fly) force me personally to fore-foot strike which helps increase my cadence. So the jury is still out on my race shoe. BTW: The speed version of this shoe, NB Pacer, is excellent. Light and fast. I use it for my tempo runs which last for up to 10 miles. For a super light shoe I have no discomfort. Very surprised!

so comfortable! I bought these instead of the elite v4's because they were cheaper and supposedely more durable. I had Adidas Boost and Asics Nimbus before, and this shoe is a whole different thing. The most comfortable running shoe I've wore by far. I then bought the elite v4's for races, and they do seem to be "faster" (times have improved a bit) but overall I really really love these shoes and i keep on using them for training. they also seem quite durable!

I was a huge fan of the OG version of this shoe. I even ran 600+ miles in that paid and still use them to walk daily. They hold up so well, that they could probably get me through a long run with even 1000 miles on them from walking. After not liking the V2, I was excited for the V3. Ordered them and put them on. They felt good. Then I ran in them. Although a trainer with a carbon plate, they don’t feel responsive. Even though it’s a neutral shoe, I expected some stability that I didn’t find. Seems like my legs hurt every time I wear this shoe. So I stopped wearing them.

Great pair of shoes. I wouldnt recommend it as your daily runners but would recommend for your long or fast days to make them last longer.
