The New Balance 990 is an excellent quality sneaker. This is my third pair. I have a narrow (B) width man’s shoe size. This sneaker fits me perfectly & is extremely comfortable.

have owned many NB 990s. Love the wide, true fit. Wear very well. Pricey but well worth it. This was an Amazon resale item. Used-very good?!?! Still tagged, never laced or tried on, no blems, still sealed in original bag. My guess is the original box got crushed somehow. Great deal.

Feels very different from previous version
Size: 8.5
Color: Grey/Grey
It's still a decent shoe, but feels different than the v5. It seems narrower and also the heel and sole has changed and makes it feel less level when walking. It tends to feel more like it's tilting my feet inwards.

The chief feature of these sneakers, are that they are very conservatively good looking. I use them for walking, and they are very comfortable.

Absolute Necessity for people with Plantar fasciitis
Size: 10.5 Wide
Color: Black/Black
I'm almost 50 and I started getting to the point where I couldn't walk - of course, the doctor says "oh, it's just plantar fasciitis.." I say "of course" because for someone without the pain themselves, it seems like it's just a Dr. Scholl's insert that is a cure-all for it. I used one of those first
, and while they alleviate the pain a bit, they don't actually *fix* the problem. I asked the Doctor to send me to a Podiatrist. The guy who I saw is quite esteemed, he's done groundbreaking work in the area of feet. But he told me "the only cure, outside of trying near-useless velcro attachment devices and leg braces, is to wear New Balance 990s all the time." Ok so silly me, I thought these were $50 shoes - but they aren't. That saying "you get what you pay for" applies here incredibly, at least for me. $200 bucks later on Amazon, and I'm expecting a miracle or I'm grumpy. The odd ending to this story is this: I'm not grumpy and I absolutely fell in love with the way these fit. I've worn many, many shoes in my lifetime (including Asics and lower-level New Balance shoes, along with Nikes etc) and there simply isn't any comparison. Like, ZERO. I have wide feet (Fred Flintsone feet) but after a couple of days of breaking them in, my plantar fasciitis not only started to fell MUCH better but in a month's time it went away. WOW. I had it for almost a year and I couldn't figure out how to fix it (nor could my primary care doctor). If you are struggling with the idea of whether these shoes are worth it here's the answer: THEY ARE. Yes, you may have to make sure you have the right size but once you do, I really doubt you'll ever buy another shoe type again. Last but not least, I bought mine 6 months ago and I wear them everywhere - even in the house - because they help my feet. So I've put many, many miles on them. They are nowhere near showing signs of wear - occasionally they'll get dusty if I'm out walking, but no wear. Made in the USA. I didn't even know that until after I bought them, but now it makes sense. Things of quality are built here (because) the companies who are headquartered here in the US don't have the mismatch of communication you'd naturally have making something overseas. I say this because most New Balance shoes are made in China, these are the only ones that I'm aware of made in the US. But the quality difference between the two - from the "other" New Balance shoes in their line to the 990s is black-and-white. If I were CEO of that company, I'd onshore their production of all lines.. they'd be the only manufacturer with quality shoes for everyone. In the meantime, I'm continuing to enjoy life with these without Plantar Fasciitis. I'm definitely a happy camper!

Best shoes for working on feet all day!
Size: 10.5 Wide
Color: Black/Black
This is my second pair of 990v6’s. I have the gray and now the black ones. New balance has ruined me cause I seriously won’t buy any other shoe now. I work on my feet all day as a school security officer. The support, fit and stability are top notch! The price is a little steep but the value for mone
y is incredible.
