    • Issues with durability, stability, and laces
As the headline reads, this shoe and it seems to my research that the Fresh Foam shoes in general do not have great durability or stability. For background, I have mild supination on both feet but it is worse on my right and it shows in the wear of the outsole. Even where I don't supinate, the outsole has been sandpapered down to a flat surface. It's now completely textureless in just under a month of walking. I walk 3 miles a day and in a very thin surface of rain and slight damp mud, I have slipped. For that fact the shoe is no longer usable. The shoe also has stability issues. No matter how loose, medium, or tight I tie these shoes my foot will wobble and with it my ankles and with it comes hip and back pain because of the strain and focus I have to put on my gait. The runner's loop is also terrible on this shoe. I don't know if it's the position of the laces or just my short stature in general, but they're tight no matter how lose I wear them which further complicates my gait and fatigues my calves and shins. My Hoka Clifton 8s which I bought a couple years ago and used daily, for the first four months in comparison, the Clifton's outsole wasn't even sandpapered like these Fresh Foams have been. For those who may supinate, have stability issues in the foot/ankle, these are not the shoes for you. Probably best to stay away from Fresh Foam in general. TLDR: While the cushion is nice and absorbent of shock, you lose nearly all stability and durability with this shoe, especially if this is a daily trainer/walker. ... show more

These are my "go to" Walking Sneakers. I don't Jog or Run due to my bad Hip/knees so I try to purchase the most comfortable shoes I can find at the best price and these fit that criteria, but that again "New Balance" produces a great quality shoe from the start. The height of the sole is great with just the right amount of firmness to provide a stable platform yet the required softness to provide a comfortable shoe that for me makes it one of the best repurposed running shoes I own. I am extremely happy with my purchase that arrived with no manufacturing defects and very well packaged. I highly recommend this wonderful New Balance "Fresh Foam X Kaiha Road V1" Running Shoe even if it's used for long and comfortable walks...did I mention they look good too? ... show more

I bought these as 3-5 mile a day walking shoes. After a few weeks I noticed that my feet were rolling outward off of the sole. There is nothing to keep my foot on top of the fantasticly soft sole. Very comfortable shoes but they are very unstable while walking on the sides of my feet. Mesh tops did not hold up very well to daily use. Disappointed ... show more
