Even though it says GTX in the product description, these are not Gore-Tex and dont have the Gore-Tex tag. Its misleading.

That matters a lot & Gore-Tex models are usually more expensive, but they're not on this page, so are we getting an accidentally great deal on the Gore -Tex models or paying too much for the others? I wanted a shoe without Gore-Tex & that's what I received in both colors I bought. You can see in the pictures that some colors have a little Gore-Tex tag on the upper by the laces. I like the shoes a lot, but there's a very thick midsole between me and the ground so I'll let you know if that reduces my surefootedness on technical trails. And as another reviewer mentioned, I don't like the extended outsole lip at the rear which seems like a tripping hazard in rocky terrain, so I'm gonna try to shave it off with a razor without detaching the outsole. ** Update: After a 2-day break in I'm no longer concerned about not feeling the ground because of the thick midsole. The forefoot is completely flexible in the right spot & I hoped from boulder to boulder in a field of them with total control. I would have preferred to do that with a hiking stick, but without one I (foolishly?) went a little quicker & the shoes didn't let me down. I wore a size 12-Wide on that day which feels fine around town & on the trail, but I also got a pair of 12.5-Medium which I think will work a little better for my hilly backpacking trip. My toes will be a little further from slamming into the front on downhills & the smaller width will hopefully be a little more stable for side-hilling with a loaded pack. This is beyond ultra fantasy feel. They have changed the game with this fresh foam technology… if you’re a big man or you are really rough on things and would like super luxury buy a couple pairs of these don’t even hesitate. I heavily endorse this product. I have purchased New Balance shoes for many years and I'm a fan of their quality and fit but these NB trail running shoes were too narrow for me. They are good looking and well made from quality materials but didn't fit me well enough for me to keep them.

Great shoe but the toe protect label, and writing on toe of shoe is misleading bc I thought these where safety toe shoes. Obviously they aren't but at a quick glance they make it look like it.
