Probably the most comfortable shoes I've worn. I have been a NB guy for like 4 years now but these might be the best 880's I've worn. It's perfect, just perfect. You get a good 400-500 miles out of these puppies. And this design and color palette is just perfect. Every year, I buy them again and they keep getting cheaper!     • Comfortable and supportive, cushioning is "old school"

I'm 6'1" 230 and need a supportive walking shoe to wear for knee surgery recovery. Here's a review of the supportive running shoes I tried: New Balance Fresh Foam X 880v13 Running Shoe - If you don't like the new shoes that lift you up with tons of cushioning, these are for you. Comfortable and supportive, but you feel more in touch with the road. Brooks Men's Glycerin 21 Neutral Running Shoe - Close 2nd place. Brooks were a bit too narrow for me, but very comfortable and cushioned. Get wide width if you've had a problem with shoes being too narrow. Good support for larger people and kept my foot from falling in on the arch. ASICS Gel-Cumulus 26 Running Shoe - Wow. Maybe the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on. Super soft upper and very lightweight. Lots of cushioning. Almost feel like slippers but still seem supportive. ASICS Gel-Kayano 30 Running Shoes - Very supportive. If managing pronation is your top priority, this is for you. Cushioning is comparable to the above. ... show more

Great shoes overall. I'm on my feet for a lot of day and these shoes are super comfortable start to finish. Importantly for me, there's no knee pain at the end of the day. They only last 5 or 6 months before I need a new pair, so they are a bit pricey in that sense but totally worth it .

Easy all day wear. Comfortable and durable. Bought these for work shoes. I migrated from Converse, which are indeed comfortable but not quite like this.... I work in a warehouse/storefront/showroom and find myself standing a lot during day, even when using the computers and especially while taking inventory and helping customers, not to mention the hose assemblies and lugging around 100lbs of hoses. I needed a shoe that can withstand my weight + extra all day without having my feet feel like their on fire by noon. These did the trick and it's been heaven since. I got 1/2 size larger, took out the stock insole and put a slim fitting Dr. Scholls comfort gel insole inside. The gel insole combined with the fresh foam midsole of the shoe is quite amazing and extremely comfortable. I tried the 860s as well, so if you need more stability, as in, you have a really low/flat arch, I recommend those instead 100%, as they have great medial support built in, but for anyone with a neutral stance and/or high arches, these are the way to go. ... show more

    • Got this while I wait for the 1080 v13 to come out, very comfy

I'm a big fan of new balance shoes for running. My favorites are the 1080 v12 so far. Its pricey but they are the most comfortable running shoes I've ever worn and they have a nice springy bounce feel when I go on runs. Was looking for the black versions of the 1080 v12 but they are sold out and looks like not being re-stocked because the 1080 v13 should be coming out soon. I've waited and waited but still no release announcement so I saw people claim the 880 v13 is better than the 1080 v12 and the 880 v13 has the black versions available. As far as the looks, I like the look of the 1080 better and the 1080 has that bouncy feel where the 880 doesn't really but comfort level is pretty close. I do think the 1080 is still more comfortable but the 880 is like 1% less comfortable, which means its still pretty comfortable. I would recommend the 880 v13 but I will still also get the 1080 v13 black once they are released. ... show more

I purchased a new pair of shoes to wear to work for the upcoming school year because I work in education and I need comfortable shoes. That's literally the only criteria I look into when I buy shoes for work. These were on sale and were highly recommended by teachers. So I bought a pair. I definitely bought them new. However, what I received was very clearly used. There were specs of dirt on the soles and splatters of some substance over the top. The box was completely torn apart and the tissue inside was also ripped. There was no tissue filling the shoe. If someone buys a new pair of shoes, they should receive a new freaking pair of shoes! This is unacceptable. I was considering just keeping them anyway because the school year is about to begin and I don't really have time to wait for a replacement pair to be sent to me, but I just now discovered that this particular shoe runs slightly small. Normally, I can wear a 12 with this brand, but this one was definitely too small. This is really disappointing because I really like the color and the style of support this shoe provides. I'll be returning these and hopefully getting a new pair ASAP. ... show more
