Really feel they did great with extending the sides of the ball of the foot out on this for stability. If you have ankle issues something like this I think can help because it has a much wider layout. I am not a professional podiatrist but I can tell by just the comfort I feel when I have them on and for walking it actually makes me feel like walking. Which is rare to find in a shoe. Let alone a tennis shoe or running shoe. I of course do not run because of my injuries but I can still walk and this gives me a little more hope.

Before I say anything, I would like the say that this was my first purchase of a New Balance shoe. I was a strong believer of Nike and Adidas before. When I got the shoes, they were packaged wonderfully and the shoes arrived in a brand new condition. I put them on and there was a medium snug fit which was true to size. The cushion around the heel was perfect and my feet were ventilated. The shoe laces were good quality and they were the perfect length. As soon as I put them on, I went for a jog and I gotta tell you... THEY WERE FUN! Man these shoes gave amazing energy back and the Foam X was so soft and stable. I have tried Nike Zoom X, the Pegasus, and other shoes, but this 1080 v12 was the best!! You don't have to do anymore research, these shoes are the ones. They are good for standing all day or going on runs.

I have been trying to find a couple pairs of alternate shoes that I can use for my run/easy days for running. These shoes are simply fantastic with the first start of the run to the finish! I run 3-miles daily and took these out for a test drive and it so comfortable and kept fantastic pace for every mile I ran. Uphill, straight-aways were so comfortable and felt I could keep going. Totally recommend these to anyone!

My husband ran 8 miles effortlessly in these shoes. He loves them. He had NO joint or knee pain after such a long run when he typically would. My husband is 46 years old so he's used to some discomfort after a long run or workout, but he felt great after running a distance in these shoes. In fact the fact that he felt so great running in them is what lead to the 8 mile run. He just kept going and before he knew it he had ran 8 miles.

These are very comfy. I have wide feet and the x-wide worked fine. One caution…I am not sure if this is even important but I am noticing some kind of cracked appearance in the outer white part of the sole. I am not sure if these are even real cracks or just irregularities in the sole. I love them nonetheless. My one big complaint with new balance that is similar to my complaint with Hokas is that x-wide sizes only come in relatively boring colors or at least less than the full range available to other widths. I would like to have the orange color, for example…not available in x-wide!

I've been wearing the New Balance 1080 for many years now. One the main reasons is they build a comfortable running shoe for a wide feet. The past two models of this shoe, the V11 and V12, have had issues with the top eyelets ripping. The V12 has a reinforced top eyelet, however, it still ripped after 2 1/2 months. This is very disappointing. I reaching out the New Balance and waiting for their response to address the issue. This is the only criticism I have of the shoe. Overall, I really like the shoe and is comfortable for long runs.
