The fresh foam cushioning is decent--it falls in a rare zone of being neither remarkably bouncy, nor uncomfortably firm. I'd spend more for a true running shoe, myself, but these work fine for regular daily activities. They certainly are modern shoes, not just cool-looking retro sneakers that have nothing to cushion your step (I returned a shoe of the latter type before ordering these).     • WIDE and great for running!
Size: 7.5 X-Wide Color: Quartz Grey/Brick Red
These arrived today and I just got back from a 5k in them. Pros: These are well-cushioned and absorb a lot of shock. I often have lower back pain from scoliosis, but not on this run. I've also had huge bunions my whole life and these men's 4E's finally gave me the space I need (the women's styles do not). These were a dream to run in, and I never say that of sneakers straight out of the box. No break in period needed. Cons: I dunno my ponytail was kinda annoying today...(point is, I didn't even think about my feet & back!) I'll write an update if they wear out prematurely or something, but today left a great first impression. UPDATE: The shoelaces broke on my second run, so I'm removing a star. Had to end my run early. These shoes only have about 5 miles on them so far. ... show more

The shoe itself is nice and light and has good cushion but too tight in the toe area. I ordered an 8.5. These are tight in the toe area. They are fine for walking, but using them on an elliptical machine--they are not great. But they are marked US 8.
