I have Gout arthritis and when my feet swell, I need a shoe that can flex. The laces can be loosened up well down to the toe box. The fabric mesh sides allow flex for a comfortable fit. Paired with some gel insoles, these are worth their weight in gold. On REALLY bad gout days, they may be snug, but usually wearable for a couple hours to get by. These shoes are a great value because they have been on sale for quite a while now. I walk a lot and these have been my go-to shoes for the last 4-5 pairs. I typically get about 300-350 miles out of a pair before the outer sole or the fabric lining the heel gives out but I am not light so I kinda pound them to death.
