First thing I noticed is the quality of not only the materials but the craftsmanship and attention to detail New Balance is known for. They are like walking on an air cushion which supports your arch while giving your feet a snug embrace. I would rather of had black soles but these are for walking and running so appearances are not my main concern. Iā€™ve been using the New Balance Fresh Foam 520 v9 for a few weeks now, and Iā€™m honestly very impressed for the price point. The first thing I noticed is how comfortable they are right out of the box. The Fresh Foam cushioning provides a soft, supportive feel without being too squishy, making them great for daily walking, light running, or even just all-day wear. The shoes are also very lightweight, which makes a noticeable difference during longer walks or workouts. The breathable mesh upper keeps my feet cool, and the fit is true to size. I also appreciate that New Balance offers wide optionsā€”great if you have slightly broader feet like I do. Durability seems solid so far. The outsole has good grip, and the overall construction doesnā€™t feel cheap at all, especially considering the price range (typically around $60ā€“$70). TLDR: Good for casual running but not good for high mileage. I'm on my 3rd pair of these but I will be graduating to more premium shoes like the 1080 or the More after this pair retires. This pair IME is excellent value for a consistent runner, it performs quite well on snow and ice. They fit true to size for me. I've taken these for everything from steady 16 miles to all out sprints, works like a charm. And they don't cost 3 digits USD. I would definitely recommend this pair to any friend who wants to get into running. That being said this pair is no longer for me at this point as I'm running much higher milage than before, and I am starting to notice pain after running in these compared to shoes more suited for long distances like the ASICS gel nimbus. Great shoes for the kiddo! He is 13 but has a massive and wide foot. These shoes always fit perfectly and are one of the only ones to come in wide and extra wide. They hold up well for an athletic wear as well. Great comfort and colors.

Just got back from a NYC trip, walked many miles all over Manhattan with these shoes. The comfort of the foam was great, I could feel the cushion every time I took a step. Great quality. The appearance is very good as well, I wanted an all black shoe that wouldn't show any dirt. See the below pictures, the shoes look brand new after walking 10+ miles over a 3 day trip to NYC. I ordered this model because of itā€™s price point and wide sizings availability. It fits very well and comfortable. The rolling and bouncy soft cushioning feels like youā€™re truly walking on clouds is especially comforting for me having plantar fasciitis issue. I replaced its insoles with one with a stiffer arch support Valsole that you can also get here from Amazon. Now it feels even better. I have bought these before. I tried size 9s and they are slightly big but still comfortable. I decided to try size 8.5, these. I tried them on when they arrived, but then it seems they may start to hurt my feet if I use them longer term. I could not take the chance. So I have to stick with size 9 even though they look a bit long on my feet. I doubt that my feet have gotten longer. It seems that sizing standards for some of the top US brands have changed and I have to use size 9 for a lot of styles, and brands. But these are good for general use. You can use them to go to the gym and go jogging and even for travel. Of course it can depend how intensely you exercise wearing them. I like that they are basically comfortable at least so far. I am sending back the size 8.5 and will have to order these in size 9. I should state that I am female and these sneakers are meant for men and I am not the target customer for this item but I and other women out there do have to often if not always, use men's sneakers or shoes because women's footwear is not designed as practical as men's foot wear. One thing I do not like about these sneakers are the laces. They have a flimsy feel to them. ... show more
