These are rugged and quite comfortable. True to size. Very nice traction and functional sole design. The foot bed has a thick, stiff massaging insole. I like it.

I bought these shoes as my regular work shoes were falling apart. Since these came as part of the Amazon Wardrobe (try before you buy), I ordered them and was fairly happy with the fit. I have long toes and need a wide toe box - these shoes surely fit perfect to size (I got an 8 1/2) and I have plenty of room for my toes. So for a pair of shoes to work out in the yard and for just every day use, they are just fine. Also the price was very reasonable. Now the cons - I am flat footed and I feel the shoes do not have enough cushion. In fact the shoes actually bother my heal spurs if I wear them too long. Now, if I wear them for a few hours and then take them off and put them back on, they are fine. But again, they surely needed more cushion. Also, my pair has a squeak problem and I would assume this is the poor cushioning which is rubbing on the fabric somewhere. All in all, the shoes are perfect for a cheap pair of work shoes around the house and yard. If there had been an offer to buy one, get one at half price, I would surely have bought two pair. I have a hard time finding shoes to fit and was generally surprised these gave me the room I needed. Very satisified. ... show more

While perusing the reviews on the 510 V6 previous to purchasing them, I noted an large amount of people bemoaning the quality being substandard to previous New Balance iterations. People must understand, not every pair of NB are made stateside like they used to be. They have tiered quality footwear with tiered pricing now. Who'd of thunk it? Sorry, a 50 dollar pair of kicks are not going to be crafted by some 5th generation artisan shoemaker. As for the shoes in particular, yes, the upper is synthetic, but this synthetic material is breathable. The support is good for my arch and the fresh foam soles make for the expected comfy experience I've had with past shoes. The heel box isn't on par with my 574's or my Arishi V3's (which are actually of lower overall quality) but that might change once the shoe is broken in properly. Overall, this fat guy is impressed with the comfy quality provided at the price point. ... show more

    • Not as good as previous version V5
Toe box is stiff and tight. Got V6 in same size and width as previous 4 pair of V5s. Tight/stiff toe box makes them feel smaller. Instead of a patch of leather for a toe kick, the mesh is impregnated with solid rubber or plastic. Less cost, less comfortable. The block soles are flatter, which is good in my opinion, but they have less "waffle" than before if that's important. I like the NB brand. I don't like saving money at the cost of comfort. They are light weight for a rough country running shoe. Durability unknown, but V5 durability was excellent. Except as noted, fit properly and are less comfortable than previous NBs right out of the box. ... show more

These have to be the lightest New Balance sneakers I've ever purchased. These felt and wear great. I purchased these because the Puma's purchased two months ago were defective (arch at the heel and slides off). I worked out in these NB and found myself wearing them the rest of the day due to their comfort. I am contemplating buying another pair as a spare. If I had to critique the sneaker, it would be that the toe hold, looks plastic which makes me question their durability. Other than that, the inserts and feel of the sneaker are awesome. I would recommend buying these sneakers at this price point (under $50) and taking them for a run. ... show more
