  • Perfect fit; great price.
I have a high arch, high instep, and a wide foot. Also, I broke several bones in one foot, so I need cushioning. For years, I've worn prescription orthotic insoles. Also, most walking and running shoes in my size don't come in 1/2 sizes. This shoe fits perfectly, out of the box without custom insoles. They've solved a problem that I've had to work around for nearly twenty years, so they're perfect for me. The only element that's unknown is durability, but at the price, it's hard to imagine that I'll have an issue with that. I'm certainly a very small percentage of New Balance's target market, but the combination of half-sizing, full range of widths, and comfort make a great product for nearly anyone. ... show more

  • Fit Well, Comfortable, Cool, But Bad Laces
Color: Chocolate Brown/Chocolate Brown Size: 8 X-Wide
For all-purpose, everyday usage sneakers, including walking – but not for running, that’s a different pair – I switched to New Balance in 1995. The best pair were CM 471 GB (light gray w/ dark gray trim). They fit perfectly, were incredibly comfortable, and were like a second skin. Being mesh, they stayed cool, my feet didn’t sweat, and yet they were rugged. Traction was great. Could not ask for better everyday sneakers. These lasted at least 19 years! By 2014, New Balance had stopped making them. In 2014 I bought MW 659 BG1 (dark gray w/ a little gold trim). These were not as good. The fit of the toe-break was bad, and they were not comfortable. Traction wasn’t as good. Took 5 years to get them to break in and fit well. Two years later the right sole began falling apart, and the left shoe developed a hole. They lasted only 7 ½ years. I bought these MW 669V2 (brown w/ gray trim) in 2022. These mesh and suede sneakers are comfortable, cool, fit well, and traction is fair. So far, they are good except for the round cross section laces. They come lose constantly. These would be 5 stars w/ better laces. New Balance management, if you read these reviews, bring back the CM-471 GB model, and the manufacturing quality standards you used 1985 to 1995! ... show more

  • Sizing not reliable
The shoe looks good and is well made. My only complaint is that the sizing is not accurate. I ordered my usual size, 7.5 wide. It was too short and tight in the toe. I returned them and ordered a size 8.5 wide. They fit perfectly. I took out the insert from these and compared it with the one from my NB 928v3. The length was exactly the same. My pedorthist who makes my orthotics was astonished but confirmed what I had observed. The same orthotic fits perfectly in the 928v3 size 7.5 wide and the 669v2 size 8.5 wide. Order a size larger than your usual size. ... show more

  • Moldy?
The plus side, comfy and fit well. The minus side? white spots that look like mold of some sort, was it not dried enough in manufacturing? it easily brushed off and they look OK now but was surprising to see that. one other negative, be prepared to cut the strap in the back off, as you can see it sticks out too much and easily gets caught on things and is a broken ankle just waiting to happen. ... show more

  • heavy duty shoe
I like the heavy duty construction of this shoe. It is stable and the tread is firm and holds my foot well. It is good for heavier applications like long hikes and gardening. With the heavier sole, my balance is steady and I cannot feel the rocks through them. Although I prefer a lighter shoe for exercising or running but you give up a lot with the lighter thinner soles. The cheaper ones do not have the sturdy sole that this one has. This is a nice looking shoe. Overall it is an excellent shoe at an excellent price. On the negative side, it holds the heat and moisture from my foot when I sweat but the trade offs are worth it to me. ... show more

  • nice!
The shoes are well worth the money. They are nicely assembled with everything fitting together very well. The puzzling thing about asian made shoes is the size factor difference. I measure my foot on the shoe store gauge and it typically measures 10 and one half to 11 and when I buy sport shoes (asian) they require at least a size 12. That is for al brands even hiking boots, also the width has to be at least a 2E or more to accommodate the width of my foot. With regular shoes, a medium width is ok. Also, a minor point is that the shoelaces are made with such slick materials I have to typically (not all brands) have to double tie my laces. ... show more

  • Jobsite shoe
Comfortable shoe. A little sturdier than a tennis shoe or running shoe. Nice grippy sole. Sole extends over toe about a half inch, so not as much protection as a hiking shoe. Goofy pull on strap on back is oversized. Hasn't hung on anything yet, but it will at some point . Arch support is ok but would like a little more. Wears well all day on concrete or hardwood surfaces. Not to hot. Definitely not waterproof. Round laces last longer but hard to keep tied. ... show more
