  • Perfect fit; great price.
I have a high arch, high instep, and a wide foot. Also, I broke several bones in one foot, so I need cushioning. For years, I've worn prescription orthotic insoles. Also, most walking and running shoes in my size don't come in 1/2 sizes. This shoe fits perfectly, out of the box without custom insoles. They've solved a problem that I've had to work around for nearly twenty years, so they're perfect for me. The only element that's unknown is durability, but at the price, it's hard to imagine that I'll have an issue with that. I'm certainly a very small percentage of New Balance's target market, but the combination of half-sizing, full range of widths, and comfort make a great product for nearly anyone. ... show more

  • Very handsome chocolate brown comfortable sneakers
These sneakers are great. Sizes sold out quickly in Womens and prices went up substantially on Mens. These are very comfortable and the color is like no other brown. These are a great purchase! Grab a pair, you will love them and get many compliments. Also I think when these are gone, that’s it. New Balance website doesn’t even show these. ... show more

  • Fit Well, Comfortable, Cool, But Bad Laces
Color: Chocolate Brown/Chocolate Brown Size: 8 X-Wide
For all-purpose, everyday usage sneakers, including walking – but not for running, that’s a different pair – I switched to New Balance in 1995. The best pair were CM 471 GB (light gray w/ dark gray trim). They fit perfectly, were incredibly comfortable, and were like a second skin. Being mesh, they stayed cool, my feet didn’t sweat, and yet they were rugged. Traction was great. Could not ask for better everyday sneakers. These lasted at least 19 years! By 2014, New Balance had stopped making them. In 2014 I bought MW 659 BG1 (dark gray w/ a little gold trim). These were not as good. The fit of the toe-break was bad, and they were not comfortable. Traction wasn’t as good. Took 5 years to get them to break in and fit well. Two years later the right sole began falling apart, and the left shoe developed a hole. They lasted only 7 ½ years. I bought these MW 669V2 (brown w/ gray trim) in 2022. These mesh and suede sneakers are comfortable, cool, fit well, and traction is fair. So far, they are good except for the round cross section laces. They come lose constantly. These would be 5 stars w/ better laces. New Balance management, if you read these reviews, bring back the CM-471 GB model, and the manufacturing quality standards you used 1985 to 1995! ... show more

  • Sizing not reliable
The shoe looks good and is well made. My only complaint is that the sizing is not accurate. I ordered my usual size, 7.5 wide. It was too short and tight in the toe. I returned them and ordered a size 8.5 wide. They fit perfectly. I took out the insert from these and compared it with the one from my NB 928v3. The length was exactly the same. My pedorthist who makes my orthotics was astonished but confirmed what I had observed. The same orthotic fits perfectly in the 928v3 size 7.5 wide and the 669v2 size 8.5 wide. Order a size larger than your usual size. ... show more

  • Well made, nice shoe, but smaller than it used to be...
I bought this exact shoe, same size, a couple of years back and wear them all the time to the point of wearing them out. Great shoe. Since my original pair were starting to fall apart I bought it again. Unfortunately New Balance has apparently changed factories or something...the material is not as comfortable, there are slight, if inconsequential changes in the design, but the biggest problem is they are slightly narrower, not what you want when you've gone and bought a 4E shoe. As I break them in they are loosening a little and so a but less uncomfortable but the narrowness isn't going to change with wear so that's a negative. Still real good support but disappointed with the cheaper look and feel of the material and the width. ... show more

  • Support and Comfort in an Extra Wide Walking/Trail Shoe
I needed a pair of walking or trail shoes for a recent trip to the Rocky Mountains and these shoes passed the test with flying colors. I wore them for one day around the house to break them in, and then they were ready to go--not too loose and not too stiff. They handled mountain hiking trails with no problem and were a comfortable shoe for walking around town. Most important, they came in an extra wide size, which gave my feet lots of room. (I prefer a loose fitting shoe.) ... show more

  • My favorite model shoe from NB
I have had several pairs of shoes from New Balance but I always come back to this old model of a walking shoe. I am a network engineer and I don't do any literal running. But I do a lot of long standing, and a LOT of crouching. That is tough on shoes and I tend to blow-out the arch support of my shoes. These shoes hold up at least twice if not four times as long as other shoes I have worn. They are just built better. As far as the fit goes - I am a size 14 in some shoes because I have very long toes and a wide arch. The size 13 in these shoes *just fits*. It's a little tight at first and after a week or so they fit like a glove. I have bought wide shoes from New Balance in 13 but they are too wide and don't form my arch correctly. If you get a pair and they seem a little tight on you, give it a week and see if they take hold. ... show more

  • Sole wears fast, very comfie
Shoes are good fit. They last with almost daily use for a couple seasons. The soles seem to wear worse than others I’ve owned of NB. Wouldn’t stop me from buying them again.
