    • Highly disappointed on this one
I was expecting this shoe's quality to be the same to the 7 pairs of New Balance 574 sneakers I've bought off Amazon a few years back or even better but that wasn't the case with this one. What I mean is, I've noticed this newer "V2" version isn't well cushioned or padded on the inside. It's somewhat thin around the ankle compare to my other older NB sneakers and the insoles are thin also. I bought and inserted Dr. Scholl's insoles and it helps a lot. Makes quite a difference. The tongue is what I'm highly disappointed at on this shoe. The tongue is very very thin, and folded downwards on the sides causing it to go in between my toes as I'm inserting my foot inside of the shoe. In order to avoid that I have to stick my whole foot in first and then slide my fingers underneath between the tongue and the top of my foot and push the folded part of the tongue out of my toes. After that it feels fine and stays put but that's really annoying and irritating when the tongue gets stuck in between my toes and having to push it out of the way everytime I wear the shoes. Might I mention that the tongue feels very flimsy like it'll rip off easily if you pull on it too hard... Overall, I still like the shoe. I love the NB's 574 style and have always been a fan of the 574 style. I didn't returned it. I kept it since I liked the style. The fitment is good also. A bit narrow but it should be fine after its been worn a few times and broking into. I don't know if I can say if I would recommend this one... ... show more

    • Great New Balance looks but poor New Balance sizing
If you like NB designs (like me!) you already love the 574 but buyer beware if you are looking for a wide size prepare to be disappointed. Even if they are available for order New Balance in my opinion, undersizes their shoes (to my disappointment) so that their version of a 2E is just their regular D width with 2E labelling and the 4E is really the NB equivalent of a 2E. This is just my opinion, since I have never found the 4E in a color way that's in stock that I could order, so I still need to confirm this even for myself. But, the 2E is not anything wider than their regular D. I sill love New Balance sneakers but will always be on the lookout for their elusive 4E in future purchases. ... show more

    • All 574's are the same although this one has a lot of leather or leather looking upper
All 574's fit the same and look very similar so if you have one 574, then you can bet you can fit the same in another other color combo. The are green with black and the toe area and the top part are leather or leather type of material which is great because often 574's tend to have suede on the lower part and then knitting on top, which is great for cooling but not great for warmth or keeping water out, so these work great especially in colder climates. I needed an army green sneaker and this color combo is very nice. Really fulfills my needs. ... show more

Normally I like New Balance shoes, but these shoes are smaller and more narrow than normal. I like the styling and they look like they will wear well. Fortunately I have a shoe stretcher to make them more comfortable. I recommend that anyone interested in these shoes buy at least a 1/2 size larger than you normally wear. I normally wear a 7 in New Balance shoes and don't need the wide width. Based on other reviews I went ahead and ordered the 7 wide and have found them to not only by small in length but they are also very narrow. ... show more
