Recent purchases of Sketchers products exhibited inferior workmanship, including thin footbeds and glued seams that lasted just weeks before parting. Their designs work best for people with slim ankles, so they are not well-suited for people who have pedal edema (swollen ankles from fluid retention) or wide feet. Also more problematic is the very poor lateral support from the too-soft foam underfoot. Went back to New Balance for more robust construction, a much better footbed, and much safer lateral stability, especially on uneven terrain. Slight increase in price but a much better product.     • I got a defective pair
Size: 13 Color: Team Away Grey/Magnet/Black
I've probably had 10 pairs of this New Balance model. The last pair started to shred in the toe box after a week. I returned them to Amazon and had a replacement pair in 2 days. So that pair would have gotten a 1, but the shoe is a great shoe when it doesn't have a defect.

My toes take a beating from all the stops and starts i make in a day. I ordered an x-tra wide to give my toes more room from side to side, in that they are great. I use insoles to give arch support to avoid plantar fasciitus but somehow this makes the shoe too small and pinches the front of my toes. So i removed the insoles and they are a little snug but still have decent arch support. Kicking things through the day and working bent over pushes my toes over the soles, somehow this works with minor discomfort. On wet tile floors the shoes are very slick. I am baffled by these shoes. If i order another pair in 3 months i will update my review. ... show more

I really like the look of this shoe (ocean grey color), the tread style, and the support. The 9 regular was too narrow for me in the toe box. I ordered the 9 wide but they got lost or extremely delayed in shipment so I never got to try on the wider shoe. I’ll probably order them again in a few weeks. The box of 9 regular that I did return was really beat up and based on the laces and paper packaging the shoes looked like they had been tried on by someone else before I got them ... show more

The shoes are nice looking. They are a bit narrow as compared to the other shoes I bought. My biggest problem with these shoes are the laces. Why are they soooooo long?

I hope New Balance never discontinues these! My husband walks every morning, rain or shine, and anywhere between a mile to 4 miles, and these are the only tennis shoes he wears. They go from rugged mountain paths to gravel drives to paved surfaces. He has two pairs that he will switch out for daily use. It's hard to make him replace them as they don't wear out easily.
