This is the second pair of these shoes I've bought for my 9 year old son, and that's probably the best review I can give. He wore his first pair for about 10 months as his everyday sneaker before simply outgrowing them. They were definitely showing their age by then, with worn tread and the usual scuffs you'd expect from a very active kid, but they held up well considering he wore them everywhere. He rides his bike, plays outside with friends almost every day, and these have been his go-to shoes through all of it. They stayed comfortable the entire time with no complaints, no blisters, and no loose stitching. The fit has been true to size, and they work especially well for his narrow feet. He loved the first pair so much that when it was time to size up, we bought the exact same shoe again. We were even able to find this pair on sale for around $40, which made them an even better value. My son also loves the orange color, and it fits his style perfectly. They're easy to clean, comfortable enough for all-day wear, and have held up well to everyday adventures. I'd happily buy another pair when he outgrows these. ... show more

Overall, this is a very good pair of kids sneakers. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. The only real issue for us has been the laces. Arch support: The shoes provide solid support for everyday use. They feel comfortable and supportive for school and regular activities. Color and design: The design looks great and has that classic New Balance style. The color combination is versatile and works well for daily wear. Slip resistance: The sole has good grip, and my child has not had any issues slipping on smooth surfaces. Ease of putting on: This is where it loses a point. Since it is lace up, it takes more time to put on, especially for younger kids who cannot tie their own shoes yet. Sturdiness: The build quality feels durable. The materials hold up well with regular use, and they seem like they will last. Main issue: The laces tend to come loose and need frequent re tying. For kids, this can be inconvenient during school or playtime. A Velcro option or elastic laces would have made it much more practical. Overall, it is a good quality and stylish sneaker, but the laces make it slightly less convenient for younger children. ... show more

Loved them but got the wrong size. My mistake so I’m not taking stars off. Fast shipping. No damage to packaging. New Balance in general are great for wider feet which make them much more comfortable for my son. The style is great and color is good for a kid that likes to around in the dirt.
