I’ve been running in the New Balance 860 for a few months now — usually 3 miles per run, at least 3 times a week — and I couldn’t be happier. As someone with wide feet, I’ve struggled for years to find running shoes that truly fit. I normally wear a women’s size 6 in length, but even in size 7.5 wide versions of many brands (including the highly recommended ASICS GT-2000 and Mizuno Inspire), my toes still felt cramped. Then I discovered that I could try wide-width boys’ shoes instead — and I regret not trying this sooner! The toe box in the New Balance 860 boys’ size 6 wide version gives me plenty of room for my toes to move comfortably, while still offering secure support around the entire foot. Breathability is excellent — even when walking outdoors in 90°F heat, I can feel airflow inside the shoe, which helps keep my feet cool and comfortable. The cushioning and support are great both for running and for long walks — my feet feel well-supported without any pressure points or stiffness. I highly recommend this option for other wide-footed runners — don’t overlook the possibility of trying boys’ sizes. I will definitely be buying these again! My son loves these shoes! He is prone to find pain and the first thing he noticed was how comfortable they are. He has had them for a few weeks now and has not experienced any foot pain.

This is our third pair. After breaking her toe, my daughter's doctor recommended getting these in wide, which my daughter says she prefers over the mediums. Excellent quality and great for flat feet. Will purchase in all colors. Hope they continue to make these. Wish there was an adult version.
