I have a Youtube cooking channel and wanted to have a motion video in my shots. After looking at the various models that were available, the Neewer seemed to beat out the rest. Super simple to setup. It will hold any camera form a small point and shoot to a large DSLR with the proper head on the slider. The functionality is pretty cut and dry without having a ton of useless features. The remote take a little to get used to, but once you figure it out, it works just fine. I have mine set up to keep me centered in the shot at all times while it slides from side to side. I am very happy with this product and even happier with the new look it gives to my videos. Very well built and pretty light. I have mine mounted to a tripod, but you can also have it mounted on a table top if you prefer. If you want to catch that unique camera shot for your videos, this is the answer. ... show more

    • Great for on-camera intervalometer time lapses
The media could not be loaded. Bought this primarily for astrophotography time lapses where I’m using the on camera intervalometer and not the slider’s time lapse function. A previous slider I tried was just too fast moving from A to B , so I returned it. I did a first test last night and this slider did not disappoint. I set the slider motion control to two hours (the time to move from point A to point B, a very nice feature of this slider being able to set the A to B time), put my Nikon D780 and Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 Art lens (a pretty heavy combination), focused on the stars and let it run 400 15 second exposures to build an approximate 16 second time lapse while the slider moved over and back over 4 hours. The stars stayed crisp and in focus throughout the capture. Exactly what I was hoping for. The slider itself feels stable, good quality. The case and accessories are good, well packaged. The user manual could be a bit more detailed, and include usage examples. The remote does feel a bit cheap. The two times I’ve used it, I’ve noticed the battery on the slider has been fully exhausted, but I wasn’t paying attention to how fast it was dissipating … will have to keep an eye on that next time around. ... show more

    • For small cameras only, need improvements for video
This slider is for smaller cameras, phones or action cameras only. Don't expect a smooth operation for a 11lb/5kg setup. Included tiny ballhead just confirm this. I've replaced it immediately for a sturdy ballhead, but the camera still wobble when starting/stopping even with a ramp feature enabled. The 5.5lb/2.5kg weight limits for a tilted slider is a joke. My setup is less than 4lb and motor starting to roaring. The main disadvantage of this slider is a motor speed and inability to change it fast using remote control. 36 seconds is the fastest if you want to travel from one side to another. This can be great for a timelapses, but terrible for video. If you want to check composition in point A, then move to point B and check it there... it takes forever. Also, the wireless remote controller allow changing speed using setting hours, minutes and seconds for a travel time between points A and B only. No way to use percents of max speed (10% steps, maybe) and change it quickly with up and down. Setting precise time can be great for a timelapse, for video it requires to click so many times with non-responsible joystick trying to adjust speed as desired. Hate this part.     • better than anticipated (and I expected a lot)
I knew this was quality based on my research and reading of reviews but wow, I was still shocked at the level of craftsmanship and the quality of the parts. The software and interface is a little archaic but the hardware itself is dialed-in and there are little features here and there that show it was designed by people who know the users and the workflows really well. very impressed. definitely a keeper ... show more

    • Things to know about this unit
Neewer's customer support is superior. This 31" slider is a marked improvement on older versions. The rails appear thicker and provide a quieter ride. The battery pack for the remote lasts longer than previous versions, and there appears a way to provide power from an adapter cord (haven't tested that yet). The motor itself seems more powerful with less audible hum - especially at slower speeds. You can hear it at faster speeds (faster than 45 seconds as trip time setting). The camera mount that now comes included is solid and better than the 3rd party component I purchased for my last slider. Overall it does everything claimed. Here are my complaints: 1) the new menuing system doesn't appear to allow a "back" or previous menu option, so we shut the remote off and back on to go up a menu. 2) The rechargeable battery pack for the remote protrudes from the back and when you lay it on a work surface is a little high and easy to rock if clicking while recording, 3) The remote clicker (plunger) makes an audible click when depressed, so it can get picked up by microphones during recording, 4) The power supply we purchased for the previous slider was a common 8.5V 2A, and this unit requires no more than 5V 2A, which took some effort to find a good adapter. Good construction. Light weight yet sturdy and Everything moves smoothly. It really has a good quality feel to it. I have only played around with it so far but I have no doubt it will hold up to the test of time. 5 STARS

I absolutely love this remote control camera slider, it’s really convenient for product videography and getting smoother motion in your videos. The system itself is very sturdy and easy to use. Even though the slider itself is a bit bigger, it is still easily portable and comes with a carrying case if you need to use it on the go.
