Overall it looks real. Most of the branches are a cloth-like material. When you get up close you still have to study it before you realize there are clearly some plastic parts. The small bright green branches toward the center and the brown stem things are plastic. If you fluff it up right though, I have to admit it is hard to tell even when you stand next to it. All of the photos I took were taken while I was standing right next to the fern. You can’t see the plastic until I put my phone right on the plant to get the close up photos. The fern in the photo is one fern in a pot that is 12” diameter and 9” tall. I put rocks in the bottom to weigh it down. I also added dirt because I wanted it to look real but it is so full you can’t see the dirt. Literally every branch has a wire inside so you can bend everything the way you want and that really helps fluff it up. I gave it 4 stars because I have to admit that I was disappointed in the plastic pieces. I kind of wish they took the shine off the plastic and that might help. But as I said, overall, it does look real. And honestly, I might update it to a 5 if everyone who comes over thinks it’s real. Maybe it is just because I know there’s plastic so I can’t stop seeing it. ... show more

This imitation fern was pretty difficult to get to look right. They came all squished in a box; one was in a clear bag one wasn’t even in a bag. There was a little damage to one plant because the cardboard box is not real rigid. And it was crushed. So I had to take everything out and try to shape it into something that looked good. Unfortunately, as others have said, the leaves are all plastic and there is no wire inside the branch to help you form a specific shape. So you’re constantly holding down the leaves and trying to get them in a shape that looks good. It probably took me about 45 minutes per plant to bend and hold to try to get the proper shape. Then, you’ve got a stick them into some kind of foam inside your urn. And then cover the foam with rocks or something decorative. So it’s a project. But as you can see, it turned out pretty good. ... show more

I ordered one package of two. I think I’ll order one more because I want them to look fuller. You do have to fluff them just like a Christmas tree. I’ve done it a few times and will continue to fluff but I think that’s my OCD. The little brown twigs look kinda cheap so I’ll probably cut those off. Overall I’m very happy with them ... show more

Best fake ferns I have ever seen. You would never be able to tell they are fake unless you went right up and stared at them in front of your eyes. I put one plant in each fern hanging basket (from my real ferns that died) and hung them on the hooks on my porch. They have spikes on the main stem so they seem like they will hold very well in the soil in the basket and won’t blow away. Highly recommend! Now I don’t have to water them or spend $25 buying new real ones every year after winter 😊 ... show more

I curate +300 potted shrubs, plants, fruit trees, vegetables, flowers at my property, all for USDA growing zone 9. One patio wall has zero sun exposure, so living plants cannot survive in that particular area. I shopped extensively and purchased various artificial outdoor ferns and palms. Of the many outdoor artificial fern options for sale, this product is the most realistic. Based upon the description, I expected the dimensions of this fern to be 40 inches in registration (broadest widest diameter range of plant when fully opened with leaves spread); however, it was smaller. Apart from the fern size being slightly smaller than expected, everything else is accurate. As for durability, I cannot comment because I’ve only installed in my garden a few weeks ago. ... show more

I had to use two in each container to get the fullness and height I needed, but it looks great! I struggle with winter planters at my front door and this is the solution! I may try other planters, but not sure how they will hold up in non covered areas.
