This is an awesome idea! It takes me out of my comfort zone with books I might not have ever ready before. I have never gotten a gift like a bookmark like I thought we were supposed to. Still really love this!

I received two hard cover books. I’ve read some reviews that a few people didn’t receive hard cover books but that isn’t really much a problem for me if I were to receive paper back. I’m getting two books for a decent price, regardless. I haven’t been able to read either of the books yet but they seem interesting enough. This is only my first box so we’ll see how my next month goes. I didn’t get the “one of a kind special treat” though… I didn’t get anything at all actually, just the two books. Which is a bummer because I was hoping I’d get a book mark.

Unfortunately I am very disappointed and I was really excited to try this box. I chose horror as my genre and neither of the books I got are horror. Not interested in either of the books I got.

I was disappointed. I thought I would get the latest in thriller not super old titles. I got Dawn of the Dead and Murder She Wrote. I’m not a Zombie fan. I will try one more month before I cancel.

This box is so good and my mother in law looks forward to these books every month. She is home bound and cannot leave the house to read. She has rediscovered her favorite author this way! Now every time I come to her house she tells me to order 5 more by the same author! I love giving her this small token of reading and facilitating this love of mystery and suspense. We originally did the Thriller boxes for a year- it was good. She is a big fan of the Alex Cross books so we were expecting ones like these but a lot of military books came too. These she was not very involved with. Some are hit and some are miss. This next year we are doing the Mystery selection to see if it is more her speed. We are so excited to see what these are like!

I was not sure what to expect from the horror subscription box but I just received two new hardcover books that both look excellent. One is from an author that I really enjoy and the other looks great. I just tried another subscription service (Night Worms) and was extremely disappointed by the books that they sent so this box was 100 times better!!!

I like getting just the books vs the other stuff i never use, however my first experience has been bittersweet. As a fan of horror books/movies/creepypasta i love experiencing new authors and new plot lines. My favorite sub genre is the anthology and this box was 2 new anthology books, i was excited about them until i read the first story in one of the books I know this company didn’t write the stories but as the content curators I feel like they missed a pretty big content issue in one of the books. I don’t want to get into specifics since anyone can read these reviews and the subject matter is definitely not appropriate for kids. I’ll continue with the next box to see if it was a fluke but there should at the very least be a content warning in the box for stories that need it.

Signed up for the horror box. Got 2 military suspense novels which I will never read. They were new or like new condition. But completely not what I wanted out of this box. Cancelled right away.

The box arrived quickly and in good condition. The box says where it’s from so my husband knows I got more books. The surprise was a cheap sucker, which sums up what I feel. I’m a sucker for subscribing for this box. It claims you will receive 2 hardcover books, yet as you can see from my photo I got a paperback. That book mentions Netflix, which I do not have nor want. Sadly I’m not too enthusiastic about what arrived. I shall try another month with hope it gets better.

The listing did not state that books may alternate between paperback and hardback, or that books were remaindered. Ordered the mystery box and the first shipment was two hardback mysteries, second month one hardback mystery and one softback horror novel. This wouldn't be a problem if it was advertised that way; however, the pictures imply that books will be hardbacks
