So first off I wanna say these things are beefy and look great!! Definitely like the look over stock and plus it keeps the hood from doing that vibration crap when on the interstate. Ok now onto the good stuff. 1- when you are removing the old latches, the 4 nuts that hold the hook clips to the hood in place.. save those. 2- those nuts I told you to hold onto ( that's what she said) you are going to use those for the actual latch mechanism that takes the one nut. The nut they supply is ok but the factory one is the same thread pattern and has the washer built in so way faster and more secure install. Also if you don't have one buy a swivel head 1/4 ratchet. I supplied a pic of the one i used. Keeps you from getting your fingers from getting chewed up as much. 3- when installing the new hooks on the hood pay attention to the slope of the hook itself. They slant just a little. You are going to want the higher end of the slant to point towards the windshield. This will allow the hood to properly close and keep your body lines straight. Also when you are installing those bolts into the hook locks use loctite to keep them from backing out. Don't want your hood flying up because the bolts backed out. 4- last but not least DO NOT TIGHTEN EVERYTHING DOWN AT ONCE!! Snug your bolts up and then lower your hood to adjust. This latch assembly has 3 main points of adjustment. You have the base, the snap, and the pin. If you don't get the first two correct you will find yourself forcing the hood pin in and that's not good because it can and will bend your hood and fender if you try to Mongo the pin in place. Other than that install on this was a breeze and took about 45 minutes ( trial and error which is why I wrote this review)

These look awesome and fit perfect. They are a little tricky to get on due to the lack of space, but just take the front grill off and that really helps. There are also a few good how to videos online. If you are thinking abojt getting these, you need to bite the bullet and get them! They are worth it.

Installed on 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Sport. These are perfect in quality, fit and function. All hardware and the tool were adequate for proper installation. Wife bought them and with my limited dexterity 70 YO hands: installed them without removing the grill or intake. Tips: On lower mount, slide a cut piece of metal clothes hanger from outside body and place washer and nut onto inside end and guide it to align with body hole; then align lower part with counter sunk screw and tighten from outside. An easier way is to use OE nut with "attached" washer from original upper part mounting. The larger nut/washer combo adds greater strength and fits the provide flat head allen mounting screws. I swapped both sides of this configuration. I used the "JT" rubber grommets and cut the thick upper portion of the "JL" grommet for an extention (silicone in place) as additional cushion between hood and body). Also align the lower hooking clevis "centered L/R" on upper catch bar as you apply final tightening to the lower mount screw. DON'T over-shorten the adjustment! It doesn't need alot of tension just to hold in place. No cam-over tension like OEM rubber latch. I'd buy it again and think it's under priced for what you get compared to other all metal latching systems. SOLID FIVE STARS.

These are just what I was after. I used these to replace some older locking hood latches I previously installed. I got tired of having to use a key to unlock the latches, but still wanted a latch that would adjust to eliminate hood flutter. These are high quality, look great and perform well. The install was more time consuming than I anticipated, but that is because of the small area to work with. No fault of the product itself. Adjustment for each side was easy and installation was self explanatory. 5 out of 5 I would recommend!

First the con. It was missing a piece of hardware to one of the hood pieces. Not the end of the world. Otherwise, nice upgrade from the stock JK rubber latches. Install is a pain, no fault of the product, but to the inherent tiny space given to reach nuts in the engine bay. Find you some similar YouTube videos and see someone else’s approach. Easy installation besides that.
