Works as needed, but pretty loud. My PS5 (original model) had its original Optical Drive Module fail, and so I bought this to replace it. It was a perfect fit, and is able to read discs correctly now. However, sometimes the discs needs a little help getting into the drive, and the spinning sound is noticeably louder than the original. Saved $150 compared to Sony’s offer for repair, so a win is a win. ... show more

Giving it 4 stars… ✨ product worked however not without some alterations. The product was supposed to be a clean swap but the electrical connection that connects to the daughterboard was not the same. I ended up having to swap the small motor from the OG to the replacement. The disk drive overall did work and my OG ps5 can read disks again. Not too bad of a fix, took about 20 minutes total. If the connection would have been the same I would have no problem giving it 5 stars. Part was $80 labor was free from me, shop wanted $300…. Happy customer saving $220 🔥 ... show more
