Description

The MSR Snowshoe Carry Pack plays double duty as a carry/storage bag for snowshoes, and a backpack for carrying clothing, snacks and water for a day on the snowy trails. Made of rugged, abrasion-resistant materials, the pack is large enough to carry 22-inch snowshoes inside and 30-inch snowshoes strapped to the outside. Pole attachments make it easy to stow collapsed poles (24.5 inches to 31.5 inches in length). The pack features a wide-mouth roll top closure for easy access to contents, and a removable foam seat cushion for comfort during lunch stops and snack breaks. An internal zippered pocket holds small items, like keys and sunscreen, and the pack is compatible with hydration reservoirs. At 19 liters, the 15 oz pack offers plenty of room for carrying the essentials needed to explore the snowy trails, while making it easy to keep snowshoes and poles bundled together in between adventures. Used this for an ascent of Stuart Peak (4500 feet gain over 7.5 miles). Needed to bring out the snowshoes roughly halfway up. For carrying snowshoes, it's the most solid pick. That being said, there are a bunch of improvements that would make this outstanding. There's no cross strap between the strong straps, so it tends to hang back. The padding tends to ride up when water bladders are stored in the front pocket. It feels like a product that needs a bunch of minor improvements to be perfect; still the best thing for easily carrying snowshoes when ascending winter peaks. ... show more

This bag works to carry my snow shoes but the shoulder straps are thin and narrow making it uncomfortable to carry when loaded up. The interior of the bag is very basic and when the shoes are attached it limits the volume of the internal dimensions. This bag would be good for short distances when you’d need to carry the shoes but I wouldn’t recommend it for a serious outing in mixed terrain.     • Great little backpack
Nicely made backpack that is perfect for keeping snowshoe spikes covered up whilst being transported. There is a bit of storage too when they are attached, which is handy for a wallet/ phone/ keys etc.

    • does not hold 2 snowshoes on outside straps.
Could not figure out how to put both snowshoes in the straps. Does not seem logical. Low quality materials especially the straps. Had to put my snowshoes in the main compartment but that negates the point of the bag…

Needs a chest strap! I used for cross country snowshoeing and has plenty of room for food and water and extra gear
