UPDATE: Jacket is NOT really waterproof, but it is highly water resistant. Water begins seeping in through the outside of the collar, actually rather quickly, while the rest of the jacket ( front back and arms ) remains pretty dry on the inside, in time a dampness begins after about an hour or so. The weakness is basically around the collar as water dripping from the helmet will enter the collar quite quickly, so take counter measures to protect the collar if you can. What's to Like: 1. Tough outer shell, which includes some in-sown armored pads on the back and four small pads over the chest which are much too small to afford much protection. 2. Visually appealing bright white material which appears to have a seemingly good zipper although having the pull on the left rather than the right side. This appears to be a common thing with Chinese made jackets. 3. Reasonably fast shipping, delivered within 10 days from the order date to the USA customer. 4. Armor pads are so-so, although the back pad is foam, the jacket has an additional 4 in-sown back pads which provide protection as well. 5. Heavy jacket. 6. Claimed to be waterproof ( I haven't tested that yet ). Where it Falls Short: 1. Not double stitched. 2. The removable five armor pads are mounted onto a non-removable mesh jacket liner which is somewhat flimsy, and will tear with little effort. 3. It also includes an additional zipped "thermal" lining but which is too thin and flimsy to offer much insulation worth considering, except as a protective second liner to the jacket thus protecting the inner mesh lining. 3. Sizing chart is not accurate, as I purchased a Medium that turned out to be really a Small. So if you are purchasing get the next size higher on the sizing chart. Purchased for those early morning or late night rides on my motorcycle. Love the option of the inner removable liner for extra warmth. Really cuts down on wind and I'm able to wear a hoodie under it if needed (without liner). Great reflective surface to be seen at night and great look also (which prompted me to purchase). Haven't run into weather to test the water resistance yet which I hope I don't. Great price and the fit is perfect. Highly recommend compared to jackets priced over 100.00. First jacket that actually closes around my neck thus making it windproof. Particularly appreciated in winter or chilly morning commutes. Well made and numbers of pockets to carry wallet, phone and more. Did not test water resistance, no rainy days so far, so a provisional 4 stars. Great value!
