I bought the yellow gold model of the 5-stone anniversary ring in mid-April. It's now the fourth of July weekend and I was just cleaning my rings w/the cloth that came with one of them. I noticed the gold finish is wearing off the back of the band. This makes no sense since 1) I have only worn it 3-4 times and only for short times (I don't wear my rings around the house and am retired and don't get out much). 2) This is supposed to be vermeil, which is gold plated over sterling silver to a set thickness. I don't believe that any plating would begin to wear away so fast. So I do not recommend. ... show more

So the title says gold filled--which is thicker than plating or vermeil (the thinnest coating). I bought the ring on the premise that the yellow metal wouldn't rub off. But it has--and I don't even wear it that often. And now I see that below in the color choices it actually says vermeil... Lovely sparkly stones--keep them away from oils and lotions. But a quick dunk in dish suds will remove cloudiness. PS, note the descriptions also say "matal" and "handcreafted." ... show more
