(Summary below) This lovely grey pair of brogues is my second purchase from Mona Flying; the first was a pair of brogues just like these (gray), only black. The shoes arrived in a timely fashion and well packaged. The shoebox is so cute, you know you'll keep it. These grey brogues were true to size (I wear a 9 1/2-10). They are real leather; the leather has a bit of a shine to it, and the toe and ankle have a darker brushed finish that contributes to their retro feel. There is no room for orthotics, but the inner sole can be removed, and I've used a thin, fashion-style insole in them to support my plantar fasciitis. They do fit a bit snug at first, but not unbearably so, and leather does stretch. I took time to break in these shoes. I wore them every day until they began to feel just slightly uncomfortable, and then took them off for the day. These shoes will get a crease in the leather across the top of the toes, where the shoe bends, as the foot bends. This type of leather creases. It makes the shoe look comfortable and lived in, while still looking professional and upscale. With the support of my insoles, I was able to wear these all day at an event, completely comfortable and feeling rather stylish. I wear these without socks, or with super thin anklets; there's no room for thicker socks. I’m looking forward to wearing these this Spring. I’m planning on black capri pants with these shoes, a slouchy grey t-shirt and a black blazer. I also love these with jeans, a white tank, and a grey cami, and a black pork pie hat. I tried to love these shoes. I have an oxford pair that I adore so tried the bootie style. Beautiful leather and great quality but I wish they made a lace up bootie that is not wingtip style. I would order every color!

Expensive pair of shoes. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep them as they are very narrow in the toe box and around the foot; however, I missed the window to return them in my going back and forth deciding. Beautiful shoes, leather is soft as can be; just super expensive for not fitting perfectly, and will have to be loosened. Length is fine, and I have average feet, so I thought these would fit more like comfortable slippers due to the high priced cost. The packaging is really great for these shoes and you can tell that they take a lot of pride in the construction. I had to remove the shoe laces 2 put them on, and I walked around in my house with them on as they were a little snug but I could tell as I walked around more and tried different types of socks that the shoes started fitting better. I contemplated if I should go up a half size, but the more I wore them the more they started feeling like they fit the way they should. And I figured that a half size larger would probably start slipping on my heel and maybe just be entirely too long. so use the charge that they give you and measure your foot and go by what the chart says and then if you put on the shoes and they seem a little bit snug walk around your house and them for a little while. Overall I love the shoes I think these are really super cool looking and I will get a lot of use out of these. UPDATE JAN 2020:. the very bottom of the soles on the outside of the boots are now a light brown. The black has completely worn off. I have had problems finding shoes, other than sneakers that fit me comfortably since having toe surgery. I saw these shoes and just loved the look and style. But I was skeptical that they’d actually fit. I thought I’d give them a try knowing I could always return them. I was pleasantly surprised to try them on when they arrived to find that they fit great! Even in the toe box. I was more surprised several days ago when I wore them out for the first time. Taking a chance, we were walking from a hotel to a restaurant about 7 blocks away. That could have been a long uncomfortable walk had they not fit well. We arrived at the restaurant and I realized I had not thought about my shoes once. They are a definite keeper, comfortable and stylish. I think I may buy some more colors!! ... show more
