  • Great Mod Podge for Vintage Furniture Refresh
The Mod Podge Hard Coat for Furniture arrived quickly and was the size I expected. I used it to apply decoupage paper to an old dresser, and it worked beautifully! This was the second time I purchased it, and I will continue to order the product in the future.

  • Useful crafting product
Great for crafting. I used this for making toddler princess crowns out of lace. Took a few coats, but they held up quite well against to active toddlers. Plenty left to make new ones when the time comes. Easy to brush on, clear color, needed about 4 coats to get the hardness I desired.

  • Nice Finish
I used this as a finisher on painted wood. Some of the wood I used was pretty soft, so I liked the idea this would a hardened layer of protection. It gave my wood framining a nice finish. Like a matte with a little shine, and it helped with the soft pieces. The softer pieces aren't suddenly strong, it is just an additional layer of protection. The product looks messy going on, but it all dried evenly. ... show more

  • Better than regular mod-podge, not perfect for sealing things, stays very slightly tacky
I was creating custom Minecraft building blocks using magnetic blocks and gluing pattern printouts to them. I originally used original Satin Mod Podge to seal in the glued paper onto the exterior of the blocks, but it was fairly tacky after drying and even retained some tackiness after the "full" curing time of 2 weeks. This would cause the blocks to stick to each other if they were left together for a few hours, sometimes even ripping off bits when separated. After doing some research, I found that this Hard Coat formula was reported to be less tacky even shortly after drying. This is true. The blocks that I created with the hard coat are significantly less tacky and do not stick together after a short time, but after a day or two of sitting they do still stick slightly. So far they have not damaged each other, but if the blocks sat together for weeks, I'm not so sure. The recommendations by Mod Podge support are to seal things with a clear acrylic spray coat to prevent tackiness, but I kind of thought that was the whole point of the Mod Podge to begin with. I was trying to avoid a spray since I couldn't spray the flat pieces before gluing, and spraying dozens of small 6-sided cubes evenly is a nightmare. So far, the hard coat formula is working alright for me. We'll see how it holds up to wear and to storage in the long term. I've considered trying to rub some kind of powder like corn starch on them to reduce their tackiness, but I'd rather not if it can be avoided. ... show more

  • Superior vendor for Superior product!
Mod Podge has been a staple in any artists' or crafters' supply stash. Since it's debut in the late 1970's when I was in grade school to college at Rhode Island School of Design Mod Poge has always been there. This was actually my first time trying the Hard Coat on furniture. 20 years ago I bought a "naked" or unfinished roll-top desk and used products from the paint section at the local hardware store. Twenty years into my career and wiser in general I decided to try the Hard Coat as a sealer and Finish over a lighter than light stain on another "naked" piece of wood furniture. 2 Days into the curing stage and I am amazed. I will no longer be bringing toxic chemical containing sealants and/or gloss-matte into my studio which is attached to the house and my children find me. **Note on the vendor, Stuff 4 Crafts, I received my order just a few days after ordering it. However somehow the product wasn't listed as delivered and they sent out another order. It's supposed to arrive by5/18/20.My original order was on 4/16 and as my photo shows, received it on the 20th. (I date all my supplies since my 15year old acrylic paint fiasco!) Stuff 4 Crafts has gone above and beyond trying to correct a delivery delay thanks to the USPS , over taxed with mail during this pandemic yet never missing a delivery. • A true staple for any arts and crafts project
I use it for photo albums (small amounts due to wrinkles), lapel pins, coating art, epoxy substitute, and much much more. It cures over 12 hours when in thick layers, it's white but turns transparent in minutes to hours depending on how thick you make the layer.
