This is a really pretty dress. The lace and sequin details are nice. I like the off the shoulder style, the ruffle detail, and the split in the skirt. It definitely has a dressy, classy, formal look to it. The Large size fit me well at 5'7 155 lbs. The material is comfortable and the glitter material does not itch. It is also stretchy so you can easily move around in it during parties. You can wear it if you are part of a wedding or even as a guest at the wedding. It would also work for other events too. Unfortunately, it did not work for me because I need to wear a regular bra with my dresses. I do not do well with tape and all the other types of bras. The straps still show with the off shoulder design no matter how much I tried to camouflage them. I was not comfortable wearing it without one so I ended up not being able to use the dress. It really is a nice looking dress and would probably work great for someone who does not need bra straps or has a strapless option. Just something to keep in mind when choosing it. ... show more

Cute little dress that can be worn for multiple occasions on a budget. The overall look of the dress is stunning and very cute. I love the sparkles and the ruching that the dress has as well as the off the shoulder look. The slit is also really cute and falls in the right spot on the leg. I will say that the material of the dress is a bit on the thinner side and has some stretch to it - it is not as structured as a traditional prom dress would be, but for the price it looks like a pretty nice dress when worn! Also, it works well for the tall girlies, my sister is 5 '11 " ish and it is a good length on her so those who are shorter might have to hem it some, but it is easier to take away length than to add some, ha! ... show more

I ordered this black dress for my wife and this was one of those Amazon clothing items where we weren't entirely sure what to expect until it arrived. She was pleasantly surprised. The combination of the off-the-shoulder design, lace and sequins makes this a genuinely dressy gown rather than a casual dress that's trying to look formal. The detailing catches the light nicely without making the entire dress look excessively flashy, and the slit gives it a more contemporary appearance. The fit is flattering and the fabric has enough give to make the dress considerably more comfortable than you might expect from the photos. My wife also liked the length, although this is definitely something where height and shoes could make a difference. I’m really happy with this dress! It looks exactly like the pictures, and the off-shoulder lace and sequin detailing make it look much more expensive than I expected. The sequins across the top and waist add just the right amount of sparkle without being over the top. I also really like the ruching around the stomach—it’s flattering and helps give the dress a nice shape. The slit is also a great length. It’s low enough that it doesn’t show too much and, unlike some similar styles with higher slits, it stays closed when sitting. The fabric is very thin and stretchy, which makes the dress surprisingly comfortable. I think it will be especially nice for a formal event where you’ll be wearing it for several hours. The stretch gives it some flexibility without taking away from the elegant look. One thing to note is the sizing. I would definitely check the size chart before ordering, as I found the dress to run a bit smaller than a typical numeric size. My only hesitation is the price point. The material feels a little thin and lightweight for the price, so I think it is priced a bit high for the quality of the fabric. I ordered this formal dress for my daughter-in-law who needed one for an upcoming event. She looks gorgeous in wine and burgundy colors, so that is the color I ordered. I cannot comment on the sizing more than to say that it definitely looks true to size in a size medium, and the dress itself has a light stretch. It will fit her perfectly, and she will look beautiful in it. There is a back zipper in the bodice that is hidden nicely, and the dress below the bodice will drape beautifully with a long front ruffle and smooth back. There are sequins throughout the bodice of this dress and a unique way of styling shoulder straps into the dress will ensure that it stays up securely while still looking stylish. The shoulder straps are adjustable and look a bit like bra straps, but the shoulders themselves are accented by draping off-shoulder fabric. This dress is well constructed which is very important to any formal dress, especially one with sequins. This gown will be perfect for her event, and I'm so pleased with it! The fabric is flowy, fluttery and moves beautifully. Everything looks exquisite with no mistakes that I can find throughout the garment. If you are looking for a formal dress, I can definitely recommend this one for its beautiful styling and fashion along with the affordable price tag! ... show more

I didn’t have much hope for this dress because when I looked at it, and took it out of the package, it almost was giving Halloween material vibes. Yes, it’s not made of the most expensive of materials but when you put it on, it’s actually kinda nice. And it definitely is made better than a Halloween costume. I’m sorry to compare it to that but the material gives that vibe. With that being said let’s jump into the review. I ordered a medium because usually items that are made in China run small. I probably could’ve gone with a small and it would’ve been tighter. I am a legit 4/6 in USA sizing. So, being on the tighter side? Please know that it will show lumps and bumps if you have them. I am fairly physically fit so I don’t have much issue there, but a skims underneath this would definitely pull it together and make it look like a more polished dress. So it just depends on what you like, if you want it to be a little tighter stick with your normal size. More loose ? More forgiving? Go up a size. I have to say that this dress is very well-made looking at the stitching. It is even on the hemline and finished very nicely. The material is heavier weight than you would expect so it will not be see-through if you don’t wear a slip. I am personally a huge fan of the fit and design of this dress…the material not so much so. The sequin area with the lace is gorgeous. The dye in the material is also done very well with no styrations or dye marks of any sort. In the end, I just have to say you will get what you pay for here. A quality dress that would look great at a formal event. Of course it is not a couture or designer dress so keep that in mind. ... show more

I bought this dress to wear to a very formal wedding, and overall I’m really happy with it. I’m 5’5”, 175 lbs, with a 36C bust, 29” waist, and 40” hips, and I ordered an XL. The fit is flattering and the dress has a beautiful, elegant look that feels appropriate for a formal event. The material is surprisingly light and breathable, which I really appreciate in a long formal dress. The area behind the sequins is a little scratchy against the skin, but wearing shapewear underneath should easily prevent that. Idid notice a couple of loose stitches that I’ll need to have repaired, which was a little disappointing. I also wasn’t a fan of how the dress was packaged. It arrived tightly swaddled in a bag, which isn’t ideal for a formal dress. I think it would make a much nicer presentation if it were shipped in a dress box with tissue paper to help protect the fabric and detailing. But I really like the dress and think it’s a beautiful option for a formal occasion. Just be prepared to give it a little TLC when it arrives. ... show more
