This is a fun “DIY Journal Kit” for any tween & possibly even some teens. It’s a combo of journaling meets scrapbooking so I think it will appeal to a wider audience than just girls who journal (crafters, artists, creatives, etc). The kit comes with sooo many goodies - it’s def a “one stop shop” which I think will both delight the recipient & make it much easier for the gift giver since everything you need is in this kit! No need to buy it all separately or pick it out yourself - it’s a time saver! The items included are fun - pretty printed scrapbook papers, a variety of stickers, a bunch of colored pens, tape, glue, gem-shaped paper clips, even scissors (tho plastic), etc. I have few complaints about this kit other than the scissors were a bit odd - very toddler-like (looked like my toddler’s scissors) making this kit seem like maybe it was meant for big kids and not so much tweens or teens. And I didn’t like the messaging on two of the bookmarks, “The struggle is part of the story,” & “It’s a beautiful day to save lives” (weird & what does that mean exactly?). These were not positive or uplifting imo, a bit creepy, esp for a teen or tween & not in line with the “Follow My Dreams” message on the cover (which I think is a great message & more of that would be good). I would just as soon remove those 3 items before gifting this.

This truly is a wonderful DIY journal kit. I was quite impressed with it. It would make a great gift for 8-year-olds through tweens and teens. I think it would delight and sparkle imagination and inspire creative writing. The kit is packaged beautifully for an easy and attractive gift presentation. The gift box is jammed-packed with interesting and varied supplies. All of the supplies are of excellent quality. The journal itself is well-made and sturdy. The journal paper is of high quality. Each page has a glossy finish and thick enough to resist bleed-through of pen inks. The set of 8 fine-liner pens work well, with ink flowing immediately. The caps of the pens are closed tightly when a click snap is heard. The pen, with multiple color ink points, also works well. However, several of the tips needed warm-up scratching before the inks started to flow. I like that the kit also includes a scissor and a glue stick so that these tools are always readily at hand to work in the creative journal. The scissor is all plastic without a metal blade, but it cuts well. The the little diamond-shaped clips are unique and elegant. The letter and small image templates are a plus and fun to use to write special messages and codes. The two glitter tapes will sparkle imagination and enhance presentations. The stickers are a step-up—not too kiddish for tweens and teens. The added scrapbook decorative sheets can be used for backgrounds, accents, borders, etc. I love any products that can inspire journal and creative writing in kids. Giving opportunities for children and teens to express themselves creatively is so important. This DIY journal kit will do just that. The high quality and beauty of the journal and the supplies will further enhance the experience of creative expression.

This journaling set is such an amazing value! It truly has everything a young creator could ever want! The kit is packed with supplies, all of which come neatly organized in a sturdy storage box, which is a huge plus for keeping everything together. The notebook paper is thick and smooth, so pens don’t bleed through, and the fine-liner pens write beautifully. The variety of stickers and accessories really encourages creativity. They are perfect for doodling, scrapbooking or journaling personal thoughts. It feels like a complete creative toolkit rather than just a diary. My 10 year old LOVES it! It’s fun and encourages self-expression through art and writing. I highly recommend!
