I am allergic to most metals, so ordered this since an alloy wouldn't work for me. This is a plated chain, and that was enough for me - it's held up in the jacuzzi and the pool, and with multiple uses in the shower! I've left it on all day and all night - the only reason I took it off was because I had a heavy meal and it was starting to get tight. I love this piece of jewelry, it's also good for waist watching purposes to see if a specific meal gets you very bloated or not (not its intended use, but good nonetheless)! ... show more

When I took it out of the package, I was surprised at how beautiful the chain is. It does seem gold plated but still has a metal feel to it. Both chains have adjustable notches. Simple and elegant design
