  • Piece of junk
Style: Style_Oregon Trail
I am a big fan of the Oregon Trail games, but this micro arcade is a joke. There is no way to save your progress, so you have to play through in one sitting. The game has been even more simplified from the original, which shows in grammar errors, and YOU CANNOT MOVE WHEN HUNTING. You just spawn in the same spot, in the same woods, and aim in 1 of 4 directions. I HIGHLY recommend passing on this purchase if you're considering it. ... show more

  • It's worth the price
Style: Style_Tetris
Just got my Tetris Micro Arcade game on 12/25/19 and I love it. As other reviewers complained about the buttons on the game being too loud when you press them they make a clicking sound. I don't care that they make a clicking sound. Also other reviewers complained that the screen is too small it is called a micro arcade for a reason hence the micro screen. I love this game so much that I actually had to put it down so I could write this review. I love that it's rechargeable and it has a long battery life between charging so no need to buy batteries over and over. I also love the fact that the screen is back lit so I can play this in the dark without having an annoying light on that would bother my gf as she sleeps. I also like the sound feature I can have it on when I play it at home or I can shut the sound off so I don't disturb others while in public. This game is loads of fun for all ages. ... show more

  • Defective software warning
Style: Style_Oregon Trail
There are several software bugs in this version of the game. The major error is that consuming food and resting does not account for your health. The result is that your party's health decreases rapidly. This makes it impossible to progress through the game past the halfway point. Another bug applies to hunting for food. You always get 900lbs of food no matter what you shoot, (if anything at all). You also do not have the ability to walk through the forest in this version. I have reached out to Super Impulse about this issue several weeks ago, asking them for a product revision or software update, with no response. ... show more

  • A great time waster with a hidden sleep mode
Style: Style_Tetris
The Tetris Micro Arcade is a very convenient time killer. The portability cannot be beat and a round or two of Tetris will always help pass the time. I'm using the term time killer as this isn't the ideal way to experience Tetris and the input could be better. I have the original Arduboy (with nice and soft squishy buttons) and the clicky buttons on the Micro Arcades is disappointing to me and annoying to others. One of my favorite parts of Tetris is the music, so it only playing for one loop before changing to sound effects is a let down, so now I play with the sound off as the buttons make enough noise as is. Like others I found the lack of memory to keep the high scores a bummer, but I did find a way around that. The system has a hidden sleep mode and the battery life while idle is amazing. I received the unit the first week of December, only charged it once and it still powers on and has my high scores. I am waiting to find out if there is a low battery notification of any sort. The build quality is outstanding for a device under $20, but the plastic scratches a little too easily for my taste. A few scratches won't keep it from working, but unfortunately it can't tosed into any pocket/bag with anything hard, downgrading its portable nature a little. It's as small as a credit card but as thick as maybe six. The Micro Arcade is an easy recommendation, but set expectation accordingly and don't expect the best version of the game chosen. I like it enough that Galaga will be bought as soon as it's available. ... show more

  • The clicky buttons make me give this 1 more than 2 stars. But read on.
Style: Style_Tetris
I love this thing, without a doubt. Having Tetris anywhere is a perfect way to kill time. Oh, did I mention the clicky buttons? I'm sure it will win no awards at a golf tournament, but that's where the cons come to play. You can't adjust the screen brightness! Ugh, how can we play inside under an incandescent bulb! There must be an update for this. The buttons are a little too deep into the face of the unit -- and don't get me wrong -- that's probably more of a plus. There's no way to pause, shut off, and resume. Constantly I am waiting somewhere or in the car and can't save my progress. And recently, now my high scores refuse to save. Highly annoying. Every time I turn on the unit, my high scores are gone! Unbelievable. All in all, this is a GREAT unit to pass some time, just don't expect it to work as intended. ... show more
