  • Best tires I have ever owned...
Size: 205/55R16 91H
Update 12/17/2023: Our Crossclimate II's have just under 46,000 miles on them without a speck of trouble. We have them rotated every 7,000 miles with our oil changes. The brand new spare, also a Crossclimate II has never seen pavement. The warranty on these is 60,000 miles, but I honestly feel they could go a little longer if rotated regularly. We have another 25,000 miles of road trips on the books for 2024, so we will replace them at some point, possibly during our month-long stay in New Mexico in June. I really hate to replace them before we leave for a 2.5 month western US trip in late April as there will still be 7,600 miles left on the original 60,000 mile warranty. Still the best tires we have ever owned... We are 19,000 miles into a 24,000 mile road trip. We left Okeechobee, FL in mid September 2022 and drove to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks for 6 weeks, then to New Mexico for 5 weeks, Badlands National Park for a week and currently are finishing a month in Canora, Saskatchewan. In planning for a trip, we had to decide on 1) replacing our excellent all season Hankook Kinergy radials with winter snow tires in New Mexico before heading north into Canada in December, which would have to be replaced at the end of our trip or 2) finding a tire that would be suitable for all season driving and also capable in winter conditions. After a lot of research, we came upon the Michelin CrossClimate II, an all season tire with a 60,000 mile treadware and 3 PMSF (Peak Mountain Snow Flake) rating. We purchased 5 of the Crossclimate II's and had them installed on our 2012 VW Jetta Sportwagen including the spare before departing, storing the old tires in our garage, ans they stiull have 50,000 miles of tread left. As for performance, these tires are great on dry pavement, excellent in rain and surprisingly good in snow up to 6 inches deep. We had our first test in Big Sky, MT and driving in Yellowstone in October 2022. Yellowstone was hit with a couple of early snowstorms which turned the roads to freezing slush and ice. We never felt unsure on these tires. The control is excellent. We never got stuck once. In Saskatchewan, we have put about 2,000 miles on them on 50% paved and 50% unpaved roads. We can cruise at 60 MPH on plowed but snow-covered highways with sure footing. 545-50 MPH on unpaved roads. We tested them out in 6 inches of new snowfall early one morning before the plows had wored in Canora, and our car went through the snow like a hot knife through butter. We had originally planned to switch back to the Hankooks when we get home and save the Michelins for another winter trip, but we like them so much we may just keep them on and replace when needed. ... show more

  • Good traction, problem free, look really cool.
Size: 205/65R16 95H
I have had these tired on my Toyota Camry for four months now and about 5,000 miles. I do really like the tires. My hybrid has a lot of torque so I can sort of spin them but on my car they don't spin like a regular tire. They sort of slip a few inches, then catch, then slip a few inches. Most tires I can spin easily if I want to but I could not do that with these. Traction in the rain and in dry weather has been very good. They do produce slightly more noise than my previous tire...and on certain roads/bridges where the concrete as cross ridges dug into it the tires can be VERY noisy. But those road conditions are never very long since just about the only place I encountered them was on a few concrete bridges. I only bought two tires to start with to make sure I would like them(and I do) so I am now going to order another pair for my rear wheels. In general I'm impressed with the Michelin brand. They seam to give me the best performance and last longer than other tires before I start having problems with them. A problem free tire during it's life on my car is VERY important to me. Another tire I can recommend is the Michelin Defender tire. It provided me with long lasting trouble free use. I will say one more thing about the Cross Climate 2 tires....They look AWESOME. LoL. Looks are not that important to me but they really do look cool. 2nd review on 3/1/2024 after two years & 50,000 miles. Probably the best tires I've ever owned. However I do have Nokian WRG4 on the front now and I'm putting them on the back now too since they are also very good tires and a lot cheaper. Anyway, these CrossClimate2 tires are awesome! Have to replace them now because the tread is low enough that they are starting to pick up stuff and cause flats....this last time whatever it picked up actually ruined the tire. However these are awesome tires. If money didn't matter I would replace these annually on the front and rotate the front to the back and then repeat the next year.....so since money does matter I'm trying out th Nokian WRG4 and I'm pleased with these so far after four months 8,000 miles. I really cant tell much difference between the Nokian and the CrossClimate2 except that. 1. Nokian is noisier. 2. CrossClimate does better from a stop in the rain than the Nokian. But Nokian is better than average from a stop in the rain. ... show more

  • Awesome Tires and What Noise?!
Size: 205/55R16 91H
Love these tires! Great traction, and move very well through wet conditions that would normally tug the car around at ~40mph. Don’t understand why people are complaining about road noise, they are totally fine on the road. My studded snow tires make more noise. Definitely a high quality tire!
