This was less substantial than the other Merrell sandals that I have gotten, but still very comfortable. For some reason I have had to order a whole size down in Merrell sandals to get them to fit. I am normally a size 7 and had to get a size 6. The cushioning in the foot bed is much thinner than most Merrells. I ordered this version as it is completely synthetic, and I wanted it for the beach. They look snazzy for beach sandals. They are not as cushy as other Merrell sandals, and the adjustable strap doesn't really hold that well. If I snug it up, it just loosens on it's own. Despite these issues I am still happy with the purchase.

I bought both the "Merrell Terran Lattice II" sandals in blue and these "Merrell District Muri Lattice" sandals in tan. They are both very similar. The back end is the biggest difference, along with the strap pattern, and finishing on the bottom of the sole. The Terran straps are velcro adjustable. They are pretty loose, but the velcro is too short. I wasn't a fan of the excess strap and the look of the velcro areas. I was unable to unbuckle the strap, and i'm unsure if the buckle is supposed to be like that. You don't NEED the buckle, it's not adjustable, there is velcro instead. But I'm unsure why theres a buckle at all. The back area is a little scratchy because of the velcro area, but it's so loose its not a big deal. The shoe fit as expected, I typically buy size 9 more than any other size in any brand, and size 9 was perfect in this shoe. The grip on the bottom was great. The Muri straps are more symmetrical/centered, the buckle is a big upgrade. It works, and this is the only adjustable part of the shoe. The back end looks a lot cleaner in my opinion without the velcro straps. The straps are still loose in this sandal also, but it's not so bad that they're flying off my feet. I'm sure I will appreciate the space after a long day of walking. The grip on the bottom has a fabric coating, and is rather slippery on tile (I almost died) BUT I feel like this fabric coating is not unusual in new shoes, and will likely be much better after 1 full day of use. Both sandals fit perfectly in my expected/usual size. The terran's have a more "fun" strap pattern, Muri more symmetrical. Muri wins the best back strap, best buckle. Terran's have the better bottom/grip. Overall I'm returning the Terran and keeping the Muri simply because the back of the shoe.

Sandals are beautiful but a tad too big

I really wanted to like these shoes, since they looked like something you could dress up or down without sacrificing comfort. While they were really comfortable, the strap design on these shoes won't work for a lot of people. The only part of the shoe that the adjustable strap cinches down is that one strap itself. The size I purchased was perfect for the base of my foot, but I needed to cinch down the top straps significantly to secure the shoe... They were very loose. I cinched the strap and realized the design flaw immediately. You could tell that one strap was secure, but all the other many straps were loose and floppy. Even the sides of the shoe weren't secured to my foot and fell away because of how loose it was. I tried walking around my house, thinking maybe it wasn't noticeable, but it was. The shoes kept wobbling while I walked, since my feet were not secured in them. I returned them immediately. If your foot shape happens to fit the design, you're set! These are comfortable, cute shoes. But a lot of people will need to adjust the straps on the shoe or else these will not fit. The concept of this shoe definitely needs reworking.
