Waterproof as of now, have not worn them in the snow but did step in a small river and water did not penetrate the zipper. They are very comfortable and the size zipper helps get them on and off much easier than a traditional boot. Very lightweight, arch support does not appear to be a factor as I have normal arches. I have been giving my new boots hell and they just get better . I love the big fat zipper . As they break in they feel nicer on my feet . They very good with water. Plus the fact that they are pretty light weight.

Good value, they have lasted me 6 months so far walking on concrete almost daily and im sure i could get another 1-2 years out of them. They are easy to get on with the zipper if you dont lace them too tight. They are a bit heavy and overbuilt and thats really my only complaint. The waterproofing is alright. I wore them in heavy rain and my feet where dry but dont step in large puddles or they will get flooded. ... show more

I have narrow feet and high arches and these boots actually fit well without adding any inserts. My heel is supported well and doesn't slide about inside the boot. The laces are further down the instep than on other boots, so you can adjust fit for the front of your foot all the way to just behind the toes. The first day I wore them I did 6.4 miles at work and they fit so well I didn't get any hot spots or foot pain despite them not being broken in at all. Their style is great, nice and aggressive, and their construction seems to be really rugged. I'm hopeful these will last at least a year or more. ... show more

I purchased these boots in December 2024. The soles are starting to peel away at the toes in pieces, chunks of tread came off the first weekend of hiking, over time the laces burnt through the plastic eye loops at the top of the boot from friction while pulling the boots tight before tying. The side zipper doesn’t open far enough to get in and out of the boot without majorly loosening the laces down to mid boot defeating the purpose of the zipper. Went to replace the laces after they had worn through and played hell finding laces with aglets small enough to fit through the eyelets. Never seen such small eyelets that standard boot lace aglets wouldn’t go through them. For the price I paid, I expected these to last me several years and I’m already getting the feeling that they won’t last me the first year. Don’t get me completely wrong, I own several pairs and styles of hiking shoes from Merrell and they have lasted me 3+ years before getting demoted to nasty garage and yard work shoes. This pair of boots has just let me down paying over double (almost 3x) the price of my hiking shoes. ... show more
