I don’t have a lot of money and felt helpless knowing I couldn’t get one, so I opted for just a basic cardboard box for my mom. I just felt so ashamed because I couldn’t offer my mother even a basic memorial urn… I cried so much! In desperation I searched on Amazon. I began looking for something she would like. Knowing her passion for hummingbirds and butterflies. I found this urn for less than half the cost of anything comparable in the memorial services showroom. After reading the reviews,,, I decided to go for this urn. I’m so happy I did and now I feel restored with my moms special remembrance. I know she would have approved. I’m so relieved. I really like the colors on this urn. It will look lovely up front during the celebration service with the photos. It came with a thin white bag, as well as the black velvety bag. I had quite a bit of ashes left over after filling some mini-urns. I put the remaining ashes (still in the plastic bag) from the crematory into the thin white bag before putting it inside the urn - it just felt like the right thing to do. We'll be displaying this urn on a shelf, so probably won't use the black bag except for transporting to the church. The hummingbird is a pattern that has some blur; just as it is pictured on Amazon so I wasn't surprised about that. Even so, it is beautiful. I love that the screw-on lid also has a pattern on it. The bottom of the urn between the urn itself and the felt has some very tiny sharp pieces. Since it sits inside the black "holder" this won't be a problem. Without the black holder, you would definitely want to add another piece of protection before placing it on furniture. The price was reasonable and I would order this again.
