Great first time kit
I've been doing community and college theatre since the late 90's and in the past had my make-up provided and supported by someone who knew the skill. This show at a theatre that was new to me required me to purchase and handle my own makeup. I didn't need a lot, but some specifics. Mehren kits contain much more makeup and more colors than Ben Nye. Highly recommend.

SMELLED like cigarettes!
This was a gift - did not look as pictures - the packaging was old and SMELLED of horrible cigarette smoke.

Very good colors
The pamphlet it comes with is a tutorial for aging yourself with makeup but the colors in the kit are spot on for young folks too. I was able to use the lightest foundation as a base, then use the middle tone as a contour, and the white powder I think is eyeshadow as great to use as a highlighter in a pinch. The mauve blush is perfect for a blonde w blue eyes. Did ynot use eyebrow pencil or eyeliner and I never use the mascaras in these kits bc they smear. I use waterproof. ... show more
