    • I've changed my mind.
Until now, I have been a fairly snobbish collector of Lego brand sets. If it wasn't Lego brand, I didn't want it. I decided to try this set out after I bought one of the Mega Construx Halo Figurines on an impulse while looking at Lego Minifigs. I was impressed by the quality and the detail on the figure, so I found this set and decided to try it out. The build was fun, and easy. The instructions were, for the most part, on-par with Lego instructions, and quite intuitive. The whole set, in general, feels well-engineered and thought-out for both play, and display. The set has tons of playability; as much, if not more-so than Lego sets, because the figures have far more range-of-motion than Lego Minifigs. Also as a model, this looks fantastic as a display piece (seriously, the pictures on the box and online give the whole set very little credit for how freaking cool it looks and feels in real-life). One of my favorite things about this set, is it just feels like I got a lot for my money. The figures look super cool (the hand-painted elements are surprisingly well-done), and are fun to play with; they feel like they have a lot more depth than Lego Minifigs, and are less cartoonish (I LOVE Lego Minifigs, but these figures are just more functional and playable than Lego Minifigs). And there are four of them (this is a big deal, because usually to get that many specialized Lego Minifigs, you would be at a much higher price-point. Overall, if I'm looking at it from a "bang-for-my-buck" perspective, I feel like I'm getting a lot more value than I'm used to, without sacrificing any quality. After buying this, and looking at other sets that are similar, what I like about Mega Construx is that while it has similarities to Lego, it doesn't pretend to try to BE Lego. That said, nearly everything is fairly compatible (especially the Minifig accessories) with Lego brand bricks, which makes it fun and easy to incorporate with Lego play. Bottom-line, if you're thinking about buying this set, just do it. The fact that I'm writing a review at all should tell you that it's worth it. All around, I have completely changed my mind about only collecting Lego sets, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for Mega Construx: They certainly have done far more than exceed every expectation I had for this brand. As final product was satisfying, it's not perfect and it does not pretend to be, some instructions for assembling parts were not clear at all and I had to adjust the seats so that the rear part, which goes before the turret, could be connected to the part that links it with the front windshield. Additionally, the turret is a bit fragile when it's moved, and some small parts don’t fit well with the characters, like Master Chief and the marine. I just assembled one jackal. As for the rest, it came well-packaged, with some extra blocks included. Finally, if you're looking to spend a relaxing time assembling a Warthog, this is a great choice. ... show more

This is a great set if you can get it for less than $20. It comes with Master chief, a marine and two jackles along with the warthog. The only problem is that Amazon puts a big sticker on the box that covers the box art. The new suspension system also works great and looks very nice. Takes about 1-2 hours to build and looks awesome once finished. ... show more

Overall good build and figs, dont like the armor pieces that you have to attach though it just seems too excessive. Some parts are held together pretty loose so they fall off constantly. but still just little things nothing too crazy.

I really wish this was around when I was growing up. I got this for my younger brother who is a huge classic Halo and lego fan. He enjoyed putting it together and loves playing with it. The people seem like they are built well and are the perfect size for legos. Very happy with this product.

I own the snow warthog and the one from the Halo 3 Warthog Run set, this beats both in terms of design and fidelity to the in-game models. Mega improved several features since the previous versions to heighten the resemblance to the classic warthog, which shows they're constantly improving and don't take shortcuts to release new products.
