  • Battery works great
I used this battery as part of a restoration/upgrade project and was very pleased with the outcome. It fits great with the iflash solo. The combination go together like they were made for each other. It doesn’t include any tape or anything so I just used a couple small pieces of electrical tape to hold it in place on the back cover. The ribbon cable looks basically identical to the factory cable and leaves plenty of room for the install, so not sure what the other reviews were talking about. Performance seems to be great. After having it installed for a few days now the battery percentage hasn’t dropped at all. It still shows full charge. I think I’ll probably be able to go a full month without charging if need be and listening 1-2 hours per day. Take your time and get everything in order and test the function of everything before you click it all back together because you will scratch the cover if you have to take it back apart once installed. For those wondering, I also used an anodized blue aluminum front cover, iflash solo, and a Lexar pro full size sd card. The headphones are Koss kph40 with green Yaxi pads. Stock firmware was pretty easy to install. I purchased my USB-C to 30 pin from Kabeldirekt on Amazon. Charging these devices can be tricky. I found that getting a Plugable USB Data Blocker and a USB-C to USB-A adapter worked for charging. It also charges when plugged into my MacBook Air via the 30 pin USB-C cable. Overall, I am well pleased with the final product and thankful it turned out so nicely. Just be patient when ordering parts and assembling everything and you should be left with a nice little iPod in the end. ... show more

  • Works great
Fantastic replacement. Cable is the original size but because the battery is larger, it ends up being too long. Pretty easy fix for anyone who has ever worked in a device, just fold part of the long cable over onto itself, and give it a loose crease. Do not crease it hard or you likely will break the internal copper traces in the ribbon. I also used some double sided adhesive to get it to stick better where the only battery was. Fit perfectly with a thin 7th Gen using an imcort dual micro SD adapter for the drive replacement. I got over 60 hours of continuous music playback before it finally gave up (I had to go to bed so not sure on the exact, but I sent to bed with 8% left at the 60 hour mark) Works perfectly, and seems to hold a charge pretty well. Just don't trust the percentage in rockbox, it's rarely accurate and it's more an estimate ... show more

  • Power for your iPod's mileage.
This battery actually works and it last for hours. The setup was a bit tricky, but gotten used to it. I bought a 3800 thick battery from the same seller and it blocked the rewind & fast-forward button and I accidentally broke the flex cable in the process of fixing it up and I accidentally made my OEM battery a spicey pillow, so it's all my mistakes. I ordered it and installed it into my now modified iPod classic 5.5th gen and it actually works. Turns on like normal and it does what it said. To install this; it'll take research of repairing skills, patience, and a lot of carefullness. Pry off the backplate, slide this under the flex cables of the lock switch & headphone jack, use painter's tape to make it stay in place, carefully slide it in the brown interlocker slot by the charging port, and done. It also fits well, unlike the 3800 thick one as memtioned earlier. ... show more

  • ★★★★★ Perfect Upgrade — My iPod Feels Brand New Again
I installed this upgraded battery in my iPod 5.5th Gen (30GB model) about a week ago, and I’m honestly blown away by the results. Installation was pretty easy if you’ve opened one of these iPods before — the battery fit fine, and everything closed up clean with no issues. No bulging, no loose parts, just a solid fit. The performance has been excellent. Since installing the new battery, I haven’t run out of charge once. I’ve used the iPod for hours at a time — mostly during walks and while working — and the battery just keeps going. I’ve barely even thought about charging it. Just syncing songs on the computer over the past few days has been enough to keep the battery topped up. This one simple upgrade brought my iPod back to life. It feels dependable again, like when it was brand new. If you’re still using a classic iPod and want to keep it going strong, this battery mod is 100% worth it. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Would not recommend - LOOK FOR OTHER REPUTABLE OPTIONS AND DO NOT CONSIDER THIS ONE
First week of working with this, it worked like a charm, but with major red flags. I bought this off a whim after mistakenly buying the wrong battery for my iPod model and iFlash board. Popped it in easy , and the first few days, I prepped as needed and it worked great, being able to last a decent while, but still dying unusually quickly compared to what I thought. As the weekend came around, the signals were showing and the battery percentage was dropping rapidly. As of today, it has been a week of having it and it has become completely shot. Checking through Rockbox, the battery's voltage is reading 3.46 and has been dropping WHILE CHARGING. It is clearly a dud and am very dissapointed with this. Would not recommend, even if desperate as was my case. I would consider buying from Elite Obsolete Electronics or Resale Firm, although the latter's communication is terrible, they at least deliver working products for more competitve prices compared to this overpriced ticking time bomb. ... show more

  • Misleading capacity.
Battery fit perfectly in my iPod 5th gen, but there is one issue, The 2000mAh description is misleading, the battery is actually around 1000mAh, which i estimated by it's dimensions. This is just a Lithium polymer battery.
