Description

Wonderful model. Only issues I had with it were the mold lines (exacto knife and sand paper got it smooth), and it’s so difficult to separate pieces( submerging it in hot water for 5 minutes helped with most joints). Other than that it’s perfect, I can’t wait to paint/modify it.

For someone who has never played the game before, I'm weirdly knowledgeable about all the background lore. And while I like the idea of painting the gaming minis, that requires (IMO) an intimidating level of precision. So the McFarlane versions are perfect. I'll be replacing a few elements with 3D printed parts more suitable for the chapter I want to paint (Salamanders) but otherwise keep it just as I received it. Like all models, it does have a few mold lines that have to be filed/sanded down, but they were minor and easy to eliminate. When this one is finished I may acquire another one to make more drastic customizations on, but even if you keep it 100% stock it still looks great. ... show more

Great base to work with. It would be a lot cooler if they had regular bolters, MK7 helmets and weren’t primaris marines but still, possibilities are endless.

First the positive: this is a lovely up-scaling of the Primaris Astartes figures, and after some customization and painting, will have pride of place on the shelf where I keep my Chapter between engagements. Now the negative: While the sculpt on the hellblaster is nice, the weapon doesn't fit the figure very well. The grasping hand doesn't; the grip on the weapon is too large and the hand is not posed correctly for the thumb to adequately support the weight. Plus, it's difficult to get the weapon into the hand in the first place. Fortunately, I'm planning to use custom-printed bits instead of the stock weapon, so it's only a small grumble. ... show more

The plastic thing it came in was slightly damaged, probably in shipping, but that didn’t matter for our needs. The item itself is PERFECT. Went back and bought another similar one to add to the collection.
