  • Love it!
Size: M15 Pro Color: Da Polisher
I started detailing 11 years ago with a porter cable 7424xp. It was for it's time a great little machine. By today's standards it's underpowered. After two years I moved up to a rotary. I burned a couple panels learning it but eventually became quite comfortable and quick with it. My only issue with the rotary is the potential for hollograms. If I'm jeweling paint, hollograms are virtually non existent. If I have to correct mildly damaged paint I usually need to step up to more aggressive products and pads. With good technique you can avoid most but you usually still need to step down to finer polishes and gentler pads to clean up any that do occur. What I really wanted was something that could remove light swirling and marks and finish off without holograms in one step. With a rotary I found I usually needed at least two steps. This finally solved it and is a huge improvement over the porter cable. The rotary obviously works faster if you're doing a multi step detail, but if you're doing a one step correction this is significantly safer not only in terms of burning paint but virtually impossible to instill holograms. It doesn't replace my rotary though. I find jeweling with an ultrafine diminishing abrasive like menzerna sf4500 requires the power of a rotary and the finish is still better on the rotary than this. My first test was with a 2014 Honda CRV that has close to 200k miles, drives back and forward through LA and Vegas and has never been waxed or sealed. Needless to say, my work was cutout for me. I used this alongside a Lake Country orange pad and 3D Speed all in one. Cut through the grim, left a nice shine, and cleared up probably 90%+ of the imperfections. Night and day difference. It's not perfect, but that wasn't what I was going for anyways. Just a quick cleanup to make the car look newer. In terms of stalling issues, I had to install the included spacer behind the backing plate as it was contacting the plastic shroud. Once installed stalling wasn't an issue. Obviously, this will still stall on creases and angled portions on the car. It's designed to do that so you don't burn through the paint. If you've used a porter cable you'll know it can be difficult at times keeping the pad moving on these angles. If you're coming from the PC you'll understand how you need to angle and position the pad to keep it spinning. This I say is slightly better on the creases but on the flats is where this really shines. The pad really moves in comparison to the PC and does wonders for paint correction. I'd say they nailed it in terms of the clutch stalling. On the flats it spins extremely well even under pressure. On the edges it's sensitive enough that you can still keep it spinning but does slow down to prevent burning. Noise level is on part with the porter cable. I'd still recommend hearing protection. Overall 5 stars from me. Great price, power, and handles well! ... show more

  • Move aside Rupes...
Size: M21 Pro Color: Da Polisher
This is my second 21mm polisher I bought it as a back up to my torq 22D. Ok so this polisher is great. Compared to the 22d its shorter in length, its trigger is spot on with the variable speed dial. Its very powerful and the 1000 watt motor delivers a lot to the pad. It feels like quality and its vibration is average. I see no flaws with it yet. Although the supplied plate did hit the shroud so I replaced it with a 22d 6 inch plate and now it spins freely. I would definitely recommend it. So now I have my 22d with a 5 inch and the m21 pro with a 6 inch..will be snagging a 12mm I think...2 month update- all I can say is..perfection! This 21mm delivers on every level. Performs better than the torque 22d..worth every penny of $210 ... show more

  • Excellent Backup Machine for Professional User
Size: M21 Pro Color: Da Polisher
It is important to note that I used this machine professionally on a daily basis for one solid month. My main dual action polisher is a Rupes 21 Mark III. Great machine, but unfortunately it was down for a warranty claim and I needed a backup. Since the MaxShine machines intrigued me, I decided to buy a 21 Pro to compare to my Rupes and to have as a backup when it returned from warranty service. I used it for a solid month and can say the following: Ergonomics are great, actually. I like the feel of the machine in my hands. The handle is thick and nicely angled. The head is palm sized for my larger hands and has a solid rubber grip that really looks nice too. The tool feels more compact than it is, if that makes sense. Its proportions and weight distribution are excellent. 5 of 5 stars Comfort is a 4 of 5 While it doesn't vibrate badly, it is not as smooth as the Rupes. I would describe the feel as more of a rumble than a sharp vibration. I have used it for spot work as well as hours long compounding and polishing jobs with no pain or fatigue. If I had never used this type of machine I likely would not have even made mention of this. I have added the "washer mod" underneath the backing plate so that there is no contact between the shroud and plate, but the plate still doesn't spin as freely as I would expect. With the machine off I spin the pad by hand and it stops quicker than other machines. Is this a lower quality bearing or something else? So far it has not made any odd noises, does not over heat, or give any indication of premature failure so this may be a non-issue. Don't confuse this with stalling. I have no complaints about its abilities. It seems to be an excellent value for the money spent. It costs less than half the Rupes and does the same things. The differences for me are the rumble feeling especially at higher RPM and my question about the bearing. Whether you are a professional looking for a less expensive backup machine (or even primary, who knows) or you are a hobbyist this is a great machine that does serious work in fine fashion. ... show more

  • Best machine out there.
Size: M15 Pro Color: Da Polisher
This polisher is awesome. Aesthetically it looks awesome. It performs super well and stays cool as long as you don't block the vents. It fits in your hand perfectly and the trigger lock is such a nice addition. It barely vibrates and it is just comfortable to use for long periods of time. With a 15mm throw it makes things go super quick. I would recommend this for a beginner or professional literally it is a great machine and can do what ever you need it to do. Beginner or not this is a top notch machine and it is a high quality. Comes with a nice carrying bag, polisher, manual, tools. ... show more
