Amazon strikes again by wrecking things in their warehouse before shipping them off (the outer shipping box was fine). That is why I retracted stars. I'm an adult toy maker and collector, but I always open my stuff. Still, it's extremely annoying to pay for something "new" that looks like someone dropkicked it. It's a shame with the effort Mattel put into the beautiful packaging artwork. This is why I gave it only 1 star for "giftable", I would never buy a collectible as a gift off Amazon because it ruins the presentation, and almost every item I have bought off here there is damaged packaging. I know MANY collectors who would be upset and return this, it has a big chunk peeling up/off. It's a shame Amazon doesn't care about their customers when it comes to this sort of thing. So, Amazon aside, Mattel has really knocked these out of the park with these Origins figures. They seem durable, the sculpting is beautiful, and the articulation is nice. As an artist I am so impressed with the balance they struck of improving upon the old toys without taking away the great vibes and soul the old ones have. The price is also so affordable which is a rarity for cool toys now with overseas production costs being through the roof and companies charging so much knowing a large portion of their customers are adults who will pay higher prices. This is such a breath of fresh air, and it makes me happy because parents can more easily afford these for their kids. My fiance and I are making an effort to collect a lot of this MOTU Origins line due to the quality and affordability. Between this stuff and all of the awesome Jurassic Park/World toys, Mattel has really been on a roll when it comes to quality and care in their designs and materials used (these never have a cheap/fragile feel). So, to sum it up: Buy off Amazon if you're buying for yourself and going to open it, or buying for someone who definitely doesn't care about a damaged display box. My fiance got me this as a gift, and he knows how I feel about Amazon and that I open stuff, this was a great gift for ME but may not be for others who want to keep the display box. For buying for any other reason go trhough another site that cares about collector standards or buy in person. These toys would OF COURSE be great for kids if you have any, not just those of us buying for the art of these toys and the nostalgia they bring :). Do them a big favor and give them a taste of the 80's and why it was such a great time for imagination and originality, if I had kids I'd definitely be buying these for them. ... show more

Wonderful nostalgic memories from childhood when I received this in the mail. It is durable and and kid now could play with it and use it with any modern toy. Since I'm an adult and have purchased most of the Masters of the Universe toys they are always bring held by friends and family stopping by. People love seeing them out and can't help but look at them and check them out. ... show more
