I purchased a tub from this manufacturer many, many years ago. The tub rack was very heavy and had holes big enough to catch a toe. It was time for an upgrade. I found this rack from the same manufacturer and with the proper dimensions. I was delighted that it is lighter (easier to lift to clean). It has narrower drain openings, so it cannot catch a foot pad in the opening (I used to have to have a layer of dry deck tiles on top of the rack to protect toes). I am a professional groomer and I had purchased mymaster equipment tub from marketplace and it did not have a riser. I bought this and it instantly saved my back and made it sooo much better grooming smaller dogs and not having to deal with dogs sitting in the water. It fit the tub in my salon really good only thing is you have to be careful of the slots because depending on how small the dog is the paw pads can slide in between them, possibly get stuck.

    • Keep your pups feet out of the water.
If you have a tall/big dog, the 6 inch depth of this grate may be too tall for your tub. My tub is a 16 inch deep undermount and I have Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, so bending over hurt the back. This rack keeps their paws out of the soapy water for a more thorough cleaning and saves my back, without allowing them to leap out of the tub. The plastic grate on top lifts out without the base for easy cleaning of the tub bottom. The base is stainless steel and fairly heavy. The plastic grate is very sturdy; once again for dogs of a certain size. I wouldn't be able to comment on how it would be for a large/heavy dog., but it feels quite strong. One note, my girl weighs 16 lbs, but has large paws (part of the breed). Nonetheless, one time she got one toe sorta caught in an opening of the grate. Being the "wuss" that she is, I heard about it. The openings are 1/2 inch by 1 inch in size. If you were washing tiny dogs, a shower mat on top might be called for. ... show more

    • Not stable slides around!
The feet on this are hard plastic and mine slides around, it also has no adjustment nor "give" so mine wobbles in my tub that has an angled bottom for drainage. As it would move and slide it would make the dogs panicky, making them struggle more....and the rack move and wobble more.....disaster! It was also a bit taller than would have been ideal in my sink tub. Thick rubber feet, especially those that could be adjusted for levelness and desired height of the rack would have been a game changer, but alas, I returned mine. The rubber perforated door mat on the bottom that was $15 at Home Depot works far better for a lot less money. ... show more

I love it! The only draw back is the big dogs seem to be to big for it and it has some sagging in the middle with the bigger dogs.
