This is an absolutely fantastic bat. It is important that you follow the instructions on breaking it in. This is the second Cat X composite I have purchased for my son. His 29 inch, -8 had gotten worn down and he requested the same exact bat but 31 inch, drop 8. I paid $400 for this bat 2 and 1/2 years ago. We recently got a brand new one for $100 and the results are tremendous. Keep in mind that it's the hitter, not the bat. However, this particular bat is very balanced, has a big barrel, and is very durable. I am a hitting coach and the father of a 12U baseball player. I highly recommend this bat. No need to spend $300 to $500 on a new baseball bat. Make sure your player does not use it at batting cages. Try to limit its use to pre-game warm-ups and actual game reps. ... show more

Bought a 31, drop 8 for my 12 year old. It's much easier for him to swing than the same sized hype fire or icon. It took quite a few swings to fully break in (maybe 150-200) but I can tell you that once broken in, this bat has great pop. And it's easier to swing than most due to the balanced swing weight.
