This is the third or fourth Boy's Marmot Guides Down jacket we have purchased for our son, who is now 12. (But the first time we've bought one off Amazon.) He has loved them all - and they keep him warm and comfortable in our Colorado winter weather. They wash well, and wear well. We have never had a problem with staining, or rips and tears. They only rarely shed a feather or two -- and that's a big pet peeve for both of us. They will last through several kids' worth of hand-me-downs. For reference, my son is 5'5-5'6", maybe 110-115 lbs - and the XL fits him perfectly, with some room for growth. ... show more

If only it was a little longer I would have given it 5 stars. As it is, my sons back is often exposed when he is playing. He loves the jacket though and when I put ski pants on him with it, it's great. It's warm, lightweight and looks really good.

Iโ€™m disappointed with the quality. I sent it as a present, and for 700 power fill down, itโ€™s unusable. The sleeves and hood have maybe 2% power fill. I read many reviews and looked at many brands, I thought this one looked best. Maybe this jacket in particular itโ€™s a lemon. Love! Warm, well sized. Looks great for everyday and even on special events. My five year old is a big guy, 96th percentile for height and weight, wearing size small And Iโ€™m likely to get another year out of it. Iโ€™m considering another one for my 12-year-old.
