Oddly, Perfect Absolute reminds me more of Marc Jacobs Decadence than the original Perfect. The fig reads as a juicy, dark, sweet plum on my skin, and the amber and caramel form a strong, sweet powderiness that feels very similar to the orris note in Decadence (almost powdered sugar-esque). They even share that same faint jasmine thread in the background. Perfect Absolute is definitely sweeter, though, with syrupy fruit and a caramel warmth that coats everything in a very decadent way. The longevity and throw are both strong, and the whole fragrance feels warm, dense, and heavy, making it perfect for colder months. It doesn't transition much; the fruit, sweetness, and powder are consistent from first spray to the final drydown. It's fairly linear, but I'm not mad about it. I really enjoy the dark fruitiness and thick sweetness. I think this is a great choice for someone who loves gourmand notes but wants something that leans more sophisticated than a straightforward gourmand. The velvety darkness makes it feel romantic and evening appropriate, and I think the fig is what brings that slightly seductive quality. I find myself loving this perfume more every time that I wear it. I also love Marc Jacobs' bottles, and Perfect Absolute is my favorite bottle in the Perfect lineup. The deep burgundy wine color is gorgeous, and the cap charms in rich cherry and plum tones are so pretty. I especially love the nearly black cat on the cap (if I'm honest, the cat is why I started to collect these bottles), and since my black cat passed away this year, that detail feels especially meaningful to me. I'm really happy with this perfume purchase.

I have worn the same perfume for almost 30 years and have been looking for something new. I got a sample of this in the mail and I absolutely loved it and immediately bought a big bottle of it. My new favorite, and it comes in such an interesting bottle!
