I was surprised how heavy package was, until i found out shelves were metal, not cheap plastic. There were just basic instructions that didnt explain that there were 3 extra screws and 2 extra inserts. Shelves and sides are expanded metal mesh with metal trim around all edges. Three of shelves screw into sides while three other shelves slide in to metal slots. It even came with a simple but decent plastic screwdriver. Fits perfectly on my new larger desk. It is sturdy, but don't load it down. Right now it is holding notepads, folders, various small electronics, and a small candy jar!! Also bought a matching pencil cup holder and attached it using a small wire so I'll always have pens and pencils handy.

    • Very nice and sturdy organizer.
Very easy to assemble, screws can't be screwed in with your fingers at first, it needs to be push in(with a little force) with the screw driver, while turning it clockwise. Three of the 6 tray could be pushed put, which makes getting stuff easier, such as a stack of different forever stamps. Overall, very nice material compared to the plastic ones; ordered two more which should get here by tomorrow. ... show more

Shelves can be tricky.....they can slide out easily. Should be something to prevent that from happening. Otherwise, the unit does what it is supposed to do. The bottom drawer comes in handy.
