Description

Hosted by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, Season 3 of Making the Cut brings together 10 talented, up and coming designers. Each week the contestants compete in design challenges that test both their design skills and their ability to run a fashion brand. Episode 4 Winning Designer Yannik Zamboni grew up in a small Swiss town and studied fashion design from the University of Applied Sciences and Art Northwestern Switzerland. Yannik has a background in modeling and marketing, but quit to pursue fashion and founded maison blanche in September 2020. Yannik's brand normalizes being different through deconstructed, all- gender inclusive designs. Yannik's Deconstructed Trench Coat Dress is episode 4's winning look and comes in 2 color ways.

Let me start by saying that I can't believe I actually own a dress that was featured on Making The Cut! With that being said, I was a little afraid to order my regular size thinking that couture size can run on the small size due to initially being fit to super skinny tall models. Didn't have to worry, it fits just as expected with the exception of the elastic band that holds the top in the back which is a little loose (and I am not small chested with a 34C). No big deal though, I just placed a few stitches at the seam to tighten it, et voila, problem fixed. Plan on wearing this comfortable dress a lot, either with Dr.Martens for an edgy look or heels for a classy, formal look... might even try it with Keds and a jean jacket and who knows what else... thanks Yannik!!! ... show more

This is made of heavy, very stiff, thin wale corduroy. It is strapless with an elastic strap across the back, supposedly to hold it up. Well, not happening. The elastic is stretched, so it just drops to the ground. No shoulder straps so it drops to the ground. Heavy, weighing >2 pair of adult jeans so it falls to the ground. I'll be adding shoulder straps, removing and replacing the elastic with a tighter fabric stay, and adding a piece that's missing though shown in Amazon's images. ... show more

Originally ordered the Medium which is my normal size, then the Small. Keeping the small as it fits well up top and still really comfortable on my waste and hips. The medium fit but did seem to have more volume in the bottom half than I needed. I think this a good dress for pear shapes, as it has a surprising amount of room in the hips. This dress is not as straight up and down as it seems in the pics. The material is a medium weight corduroy, which I think will be nice for fall with tall boots. I wish there was a little more color contrast so you could see all the lovely detail in the piping and buttons. This is definitely different than anything I have in my closet - looking forward to some cooler weather so I can wear it out! ... show more

Saw this dress on a TikTok creator, and was excited to discover that it was not super expensive. I ordered the dress and received it in about three days. The fit is very flattering and the quality is very good. You can layer things under this dress very easily, and the design at the best, makes it very unique. Okay, was enamored with this piece when it came down the runway and was even more stoked when it won. Only thing is WHERE IS THE HEIDI LEGGIE MOMENT 😆 I popped my knee out waiting to see it but alas no meat to be seen. I believe I found the seam on my dress where Yanik made the leg happen before the show and plan on having that tailored open for maximum model feeling. ... show more

I like the lightweight corduroy…it feels substantial but not hot. I used the bust measurement to order and it fit me perfectly! I am thick waisted so was a little concerned but there is enough give that it fits fine. Easy to pull on over your head, and it gives a great hourglass shape. And did I mention pockets?!?!?!? As another reviewer commented, the slits aren’t as high as on the show and I am personally glad for that, but it would be easy to make them higher if you want.
